Star Trek Online
STATUS: Green

First version released on 2/2/2010, I played the beta and head-start and made a working port before the game was released! Maybe its the first game we have here with a decent port released before the game is even out?

But whats to say.. its Star Trek, and its a MMORPG... you create your character, you have bridge crews and skills... space missions and battles.. ground missions and battles... its all a lot of fun!  Set many years after the film Nemesis... the borg are back... the Klingons are at war with the Feds and have dramatically increased in the size of their empire...

For information see link
http://www.startrekonline.com

Made with Wineskin 2.0.

System Requirements:
    x86 Mac
    Mac OS X 10.5 - 10.6
    Dual Core processor
    1gb+ Ram
    Nvidia or ATI graphics card
Intel GMA 950 and X3100 do NOT work.
    active STO account.

For downloads, please see the Forum posting on the Official STO forums
its too hard when making new versions to keep up with changing stuff here too.

Directions for installation are pretty standard for Wineskin... extra directions come with the download.

latest wrapper version is  "unofficial Mac Version 1.3.1"
Its made with Wineskin 2.0 RC3, fully self contained.

Give a big thanks to the makers... Cryptic Studios.... they actually went in and put a patch in the game to make it proper detect Wine and fixed the Wine graphics issues so that it runs better!  Always nice when a game makers actually helps us run games.

thats not really possible. I haven't got a windows partition and my dvd drive is busted.
I'll let it run for a while if you think that'll work.
It installs the exe fine, but once you run it it goes to black with the X mouse.
Thanks for the help btw

all you need to get installed is the main Star Trek Online.exe ... once you get that one on there.. you can kill the install.  WHen you run the game, the patcher/downloader will automatically download and install everything you need.

Champions Online.exe should work the same.. just change the wrapper to launch it.
Okay, I've got the patcher to work now.
Is it normal for the screen to be totally black apart from the patcher window?

Edit: Well look at that. It works nearly perfectly.
Only problems are sometimes the mouse goes crazy when turning making the camera go straight up and spin, and sometimes I get stuck in automove mode for no reason. Other than that, playing the demo, it works perfectly.
edit edit edit: Game is stuck in 4:3 for some reason. If I try to change it the screen goes insane. I've gone into the Wineskin prefs and tried to force it from there, but that didn't work. Not really a problem, but interesting none the less

Thanks for all the help.
tried it, not a huge fan of the game but good port, no problems.

its best to leave the game set for fullscreen (not maximized window), then it sees what resolution you have set in WineskinSettings.app as a usable resolution.  It cannot detect anything else to use... it will when RANDR is working in Xquartz eventually though.

i have directions in the download about fullscreen and window modes... once you change it to a window, its pretty much stuck that way unless you manually edit the STO config file.... this should be fixed with WS5 and RANDR too I hope.
A little late to the party, i know.

but, has anyone managed to get a XBox 360 controller to work with this wrapper?

I have Tattyboggles XBox 360 Controller Driver verion 0.11 installed.

I learned of a program called "x360ce" that can "emulate" XBox 360 controllers in windows using standard controllers.
And some report that it can be used in ported wrappers.
But, i don't know how to use it.

It's not urgent, as I could use ControllerMate to map the controllers inputs to keyboard and/or mouse controls.
But, a more native input would be prefered. As remapping can result in very "clunky" controls.

Thanks.
it works on steam.

No it doesn't  it keeps updating continuously and uses all your Gigabytes up...
I use this port and the game itself keeps getting better and better
