Series Description:
King's Quest is an adventure game series created by the American personal computer game company Sierra Entertainment. It is widely considered as a classic series from the golden era of adventure games. Following the success of its first installment, the series was primarily responsible for building the reputation of Sierra. Roberta Williams, co-founder and former co-owner of Sierra, designed all of the King's Quest games.

The King's Quest series chronicles the saga of the royal family of the Kingdom of Daventry through their various trials and adventures. The story takes place over two generations and across many lands, including Daventry, Kolyma, Llewdor, Tamir, Serenia, Eldritch, Etheria, Land of the Green Isles, Realm of the Dead, The Swamp, Dimension of Death, Underground Realm of the Gnomes, Barren Region, Frozen Reaches, Paradise Lost, and Realm of the Sun.

In February 2011, it was announced that the series will be rebooted by Telltale Games.

Port Info:
Games have been ported with Dosbox Wrapper - Dosbox 0.74
To change between full screen / windowed more use alt+enter or edit the .conf file.

I have replaced and fixed the audio issues in King's Quest 6 CD by changing the audio driver.

I have added the intro movies to King's Quest VII.

Cd checks have been compromised where applicable, and King's Quest 1 has been cracked, but nothing has been ripped.

Game manuals have been included.

Plot:
In King's Quest: Quest for the Crown, become Sir Graham, bravest of knights. Locate and return to King Edward the three great lost treasures of the Kingdom of Daventry in order to inherit the throne.

Continue your adventures as (now) King Graham in King's Quest II: Romancing the Throne as you travel to the land of Kolyma in search of your bride.

In King's Quest III: To Heir is Human, you find yourself a servant of an evil wizard. As Gwydion, you must master spells and overcome numerous perils to escape from slavery and save a kingdom. As with all King's Quest titles, you must be prepared. The journey will surely prove long and treacherous. You may choose among many paths open to you. The more clever and resourceful you prove yourself, the greater your reward

Life is easy in the magical kingdom of Daventry, at least so long as the Graham family is at its helm. The wonderful, surreal land, filled with fantasy creatures and untold wonders, is just waiting to reveal its secrets to you, if you so wish. Take part in the adventure of Princess Rosella, trying to save her father from certain death. Help the brave King retake his family and castle from the hands of the ruthless wizard Mordack, then join Prince Alexander in finding and saving his significant other in the Land of the Green Isles.

Discover the story behind three titles from the King's Quest saga - one of the most famous adventure game series released by Sierra. Let yourself become enthralled by the incredible atmosphere created by Roberta Williams, who drew inspiration from fairy tales and stories like The Beauty and the Beast, Baba Yaga and many more. The Grahams need your help, so don't fear, brave adventurer, and embark on a journey of your dreams.

In King's Quest 7, take on Roberta Williams' challenge as you match wits with an evil enchantress bent on your kingdoms destruction.

Minimum System Requirements:
- Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger / Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard / Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard / Mac OS X 10.7 Lion / Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
- CPU: Intel Processor only - PPC support on request only
- RAM: 512 MB
- Video: nVidia 8xxx Series or AMD 3xxx or 4xxx Series Video Card recommended - any should work
- about 850 megs of Hard Drive Space required
- If anyone tries this on PPC or an OS system below Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4) - please advise in the comments if it is working.  Thank you.

Installation:
Mount the .dmg and drag the Games'.app(s) to your Application folder or wherever. (If you do not do this they will not work or you can not save because they are on image)
Unmount the .dmg. Click and Play the game from your Application Folder.
With King's Quest VI / VII - they are parts - you need to combine them with 7-zip or MacHacha or Split & Concat - etc before you unzip them and mount them.

How Do I combine files? See @ http://portingteam.c...-combine-files/

Known Issues:
Due to me making a .bat file to Run King's Quest VII with videos through Dosbox - the game will exit to the dos prompt. Type exit to quit or use force quit. Joysticks support has been enabled though they have not been tested.

You need the Logic Puzzle Solution guide to get through King's Quest VII (non talkie) it is a copy protection of sorts. - It can be found here http://klkl.co.uk/20...logic-solution/

OMG, I used to LOVE King's Quest, I played them all when they came out on DOS back in the 80's and 90's....I then replayed them when I got the Sierra Classic Games Collection...I think that included all the King's Quests, Police Quests, and some oddballs like Mixed-up Mother Goose...glad to see these games are alive and well in the age of OS X ;)
Glad you guys enjoy them - after some work King's Quest VII is up now.
classic. ty!

Great work there. I only want to point out one thing: you don't have the original King's Quest 1 from 1984, what you've got there is the ubiquitous re-release from 1987.

The original 1984 game was a disk booter in several versions (DOS, PC Jr., and Tandy 1000), drew the screen in realtime, and didn't have a textbox for in-game alert. It also featured additional sound banks for the TANDY like roaring waves and bird chirp effects, etc.
Thanks for pointing that out to everyone.  There is several version of the King's Quest 1 - I had that one for awhile forgot it was not the true 1984 one.
this makes me so happy.  thank you =)
how do I launch these?  do I need to install boxer first?
yes you do, as is true with most of the ports in this section.
ah, gracias =)

I installed boxer and the games, but I'm not getting any of the speech sounds that I remember for KQ VI.  Can anybody try this game and see if they get any of them?

No quite sure what you mean - runs for me - what are you experiencing?
I remember, and could be wrong, about having the characters talk.  As it is I read the dialogue.  I could be wrong so I was curious if you guys get recorded dialogue or not
There is speech in 7 only in this set.

Speech in 5-7 now
