Lara Croft is a Tomb Raider, an archaeologist who explores ancient sites in search of valuable artifacts. In the game, Lara Croft is hired to retrieve an artifact from a tomb in Peru, which turns out to be one of three parts of the Atlantean Scion. Soon betrayed by her employer, Lara Croft travels to Greece, Rome and Egypt to recover the other parts before this powerful device falls into the wrong hands.

Tomb Raider is a 3D action/adventure game in which players control Lara Croft from a third person perspective. The camera follows Lara as she climbs, jumps, and swims through detailed environs overcoming environmental obstacles and deadly fauna. Moving through levels often involves finding spots where Lara can climb, looking for spots where Lara can use her acrobatic ability, and sliding blocks and pushing levers to solve puzzles and open passageways.

Lara is armed with, now trademark, twin pistols with infinite ammunition, but she can pick up higher caliber weapons to take on deadlier human opponents. Lara also comes across restorative health packs and has a compass with which she can orient herself. Lara’s opponents include animals, gunmen, as well as primeval and supernatural beings. Careful explorers can also find secret areas and avoid traps.

Notes:
The cutscene videos have a messed up color palette - this is a known DOSBox bug and is not related to the Glide wrapper. Set resolution is 1024x768 - nothing was ripped.

the sound from dialogs doesn't play... like when you finish the first section and the redneck guy and Lara is supposed to talk.. the rendering all plays, but the speech isn't there, its just silent. (the sound in movies play fine, these are scenes rendered 3D)
works!
It didn't work at first... but I changed Contents/MacOS/glide.sh and now it does:
#!/bin/bash

GAMEROOT=$(cd "${0%/*}" && echo $PWD)
#GAMEEXE=dosbox_wrapper

export DYLD_FALLBACK_LIBRARY_PATH=$GAMEROOT/glide2x dosbox

#exec "$GAMEROOT/$GAMEEXE" &

cd "$GAMEROOT/.."
exec ./MacOS/dosbox -conf ./Resources/dosbox.conf
Some wonderful memories here.  Nice port.

You're bypassing the DOSBox wrapper and executing the DOSBox binary directly.
that shouldn't be necessary - all machines I tested this on could run it without any problems - must be your system configuration.

the dosbox_wrapper bin is a universal binary afaik - it should run on all 10.5 & 10.6 Intel/PPC systems.
OK update people!
I have reuploaded the port with a new wrapper that has support for higher resolutions and also delivers a much better gameplay performance.

Be sure to check it out!
I had not downloaded this yet to look but are all of your updates like this recently using that new version of nGlide from the week before?

thanks!
no they're not using nGlide since nGlide is not available natively for OSX. Instead I included a patched version of OpenGLide.
So the previous version worked just out of the box without changes for me.  This one however I double click to run it and nothing happens.  Is there somewhere I can go to see if there is an error message or something? I can't tell where it's failing.
This is amazing. Thanks, now I'll be able to live the 90s all over again :0)
wow. never thought I'd be playing this one again. thanks!
Yikes. I must have something wrong here. Just like previous poster LazerTag, when I double click to execute the program nothing happens. I'm using a new MacBook Pro 15" with 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M. I do have Boxer installed, which is using DOSBox version 0.74. Could there be a conflict there? Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I'd love to take a trip down memory lane with the original Tomb Raider.
Thank you for all the help, Doctor. Decompressing the app with BetterZip instead of 7-Zip has resolved my problem. What a wonderful blast from 1996. I owned the original 3Dfx Orchid Righteous 3D video card back in the day just so I could play a visually superior Tomb Raider than all of those Playstation owners out there. LOL...

I still own the original CD. Noticed in your wrapper there is no CD ambient music. Guess that's the limitation of DOSBox within Mac OS X. Have the same problem using Boxer with other original DOS games having CD music tracks.

Thanks again for all of your efforts here!
Hey thanks LZRD15 and The Doctor,  this too was my issue.  I never though unzipping with a  different app could have this affect but it certainly did.  Working great here now. awesome work!
Thanks for this one.

Perfect nostalgy in a nice wrap
