Personal Notes:
I wanted to port Castle Of The Winds to Mac. COTW is one of the first rogue style dungeon games with a GUI that I know of. I started playing it back on Win 3.1 when I was a kid and as of this past week tried a number of wrappers. Doh123's Wineskin is what I'm use to using and it ported fine except the inventory screen was distorted. So I went back to Dosbox and learned how to run windows from my root HD dir. The big question was, can it become portable? Yes!
A year ago I found the Dosbox Classic Game Collection for Mac floating around and grabbed a few games from it. Since these are portable, I just dumped the W31 file in, changed a few things in the dosbox.config and off it went and just completed both chapters of COTW.
Game Description:
Castle of the Winds (CotW) is a tile-based roguelike computer game for Windows 3.x. It was developed by SaadaSoft and published by Epic MegaGames in 1989.
The game is composed of two parts: A Question of Vengeance, released as shareware, and Lifthransir's Bane, sold commercially. A combined license for both parts was also sold. In 1998, the game's author, Rick Saada, decided to distribute the entirety of Castle of the Winds free of charge.
Tested Game-Version: US Release
Roguelike

3. Known Issues:
Some of these games are old old, meaning when you put the floppy in and booted, the only way to exit the game was to eject the floppy.
If this happens press CONTROL+ESC.
Then go to the desktop of Win 3.11 and click the icon, then SETTINGS, then TERMINATE.
If not use FN+CONTROL+F9 to kill Dosbox
If a game acts like it is not running, hold:
FN+CONTROL+F12 to speed frameskip up - example: Wolf3D
FN+CONTROL+F11 to slow frameskip down

DL, Uncompress, Drag and Drop to your drive, Play
5. Notes
