Crysis is a science fiction first-person shooter video game developed by Crytek Frankfurt, published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows, and released in November 2007. It is the first game of a trilogy. A separate game entitled Crysis Warhead was released on September 12, 2008, and follows similar events as Crysis but from a different narrative perspective. Crysis, Crysis Warhead and a multiplayer expansion called Crysis Wars were re-released as a compilation pack titled Crysis Maximum Edition on 5 May 2009.
The game is based in a future where an ancient alien spacecraft has been discovered beneath the ground on an island near the coast of the East Philippines. The single-player campaign has the player assume the role of United States Delta Force operator Jake Dunn, referred to in-game by his call sign, Nomad. Nomad is armed with various futuristic weapons and equipment, most notably a "Nano Muscle Suit" which was inspired by a real-life military concept. In Crysis, the player fights both North Korean and extraterrestrial enemies, in various environments on and around a tropical island in the Pacific near Korea.

Personal Notes:
BIG THANKS to rynotheking14, who discovered, that the 4983 Cider Wrapper can launch Crysis.
I bug fixed his beta Wrapper pretty much and most of all fixed a save bug, that crashed the wrapper every
time you tried to get in-game. Now it runs pretty good.
UPDATE, builded from scratch 5290 CiderX 1.2.1 Wrapper.
And thanks to Taeki, who tested this wrapper on an ATi Card. The sceenshot above was taken on his Mac !!!

tested Game-Version: US Release

Minimum System Requirements:
- OS: Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard / Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
- RAM: 2048 MB
- Video: minimum is 9400/320M on nVidia. 9600/330M GT should be able to run this on medium details.
No idea, what is the minimum on ATi, but on ATI Radeon HD 4850 it runs on medium/high setting in Full HD resolution.

- about 13 GB Hard Drive Space required

don't even think about running this on a Intel GMA Chip!

Known Issues:

-DX10 is not working, sorry.
- you cannot use High Textures or the Wrapper will crash.

- Antialiasing can make graphical problems.
Example: (thanks to Taeki)
Image

- High Shaders are causing graphical corruption.
UPDATE: Fixed all shaders are working now.

If you experience other graphic problems, then you might have a autoexec.cfg or system.cfg file, that does not work with
Cider. Example of pictures you can get:

Fixed with updated wrapper. All graphical console commands (expect from high textures and antialiasing settings) are working now.

Installation:
- patch you install on 1.2 minimum, otherwise the game will not start
- no-cd patch your Crysis Insallation, then look at this disk image:

All low and full resolution of your MacBook should be possible.
Maybe slightly higher.

Cool thanks!:)
I bring good news on 10.5, with a 9600m GT graphics card this game runs flawless on medium settings. However on my 9400m i noticed some lag while using medium settings. The only problem is that running this game makes my fan hot. Here is a screenshot.

P.S I used a demo version of the game will be getting the full game soon

EDIT: By the way the image background for the Crysis Installer DMG isnt working for me

Thanks for reporting. This is great.
(Hot fans... on Crysis. I think this sentence does not need to be explained ^^ )

For the Image Background the reason is pretty simple.
Snow Leopard is not creating Leopard compatible backgrounds.
Normally I use 3rd Party Apps for that reason like DMG Canvas,
but non of these apps is able to create sparsebundle images,
like those I need for this install routines. So need to use
Snow Leopards default background options and there are
simply not displayed on Leopard.

Hey!, i've have the 9400m too! And with some games, i noticed the fan warming thing. I am right if i say your game suddenly start lagging?
If yes, download and install smcfancontrol, then you can control you fan speed. For games it should be set to 4000-4500
he said some lag on medium settings with 9400m. So if you use some low settings you should be good to go.
Does this wrapper work with version 1.2.1?

Yeah it does. Version 1.2 and higher are supported.
Great job on this port. It runs flawlessly with only about a 10fps drop then what I would get on windows.
Are there any infos about DirectX 10 (11) in Cider?

I noticed some shader problems at the beginning of the second chapter. Shaders have to be set to medium otherwise the whole screen goes white and you can not see anything...

Yep. To put it simply, it doesn't work.
