Crysis is a science fiction first-person shooter video game developed by Crytek Frankfurt, published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows, and released in November 2007. It is the first game of a trilogy. A separate game entitled Crysis Warhead was released on September 12, 2008, and follows similar events as Crysis but from a different narrative perspective. Crysis, Crysis Warhead and a multiplayer expansion called Crysis Wars were re-released as a compilation pack titled Crysis Maximum Edition on 5 May 2009.
The game is based in a future where an ancient alien spacecraft has been discovered beneath the ground on an island near the coast of the East Philippines. The single-player campaign has the player assume the role of United States Delta Force operator Jake Dunn, referred to in-game by his call sign, Nomad. Nomad is armed with various futuristic weapons and equipment, most notably a "Nano Muscle Suit" which was inspired by a real-life military concept. In Crysis, the player fights both North Korean and extraterrestrial enemies, in various environments on and around a tropical island in the Pacific near Korea.

Personal Notes:
BIG THANKS to rynotheking14, who discovered, that the 4983 Cider Wrapper can launch Crysis.
I bug fixed his beta Wrapper pretty much and most of all fixed a save bug, that crashed the wrapper every
time you tried to get in-game. Now it runs pretty good.
UPDATE, builded from scratch 5290 CiderX 1.2.1 Wrapper.
And thanks to Taeki, who tested this wrapper on an ATi Card. The sceenshot above was taken on his Mac !!!

Minimum System Requirements:
- OS: Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard / Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
- RAM: 2048 MB
- Video: minimum is 9400/320M on nVidia. 9600/330M GT should be able to run this on medium details.
No idea, what is the minimum on ATi, but on ATI Radeon HD 4850 it runs on medium/high setting in Full HD resolution.

- about 13 GB Hard Drive Space required

don't even think about running this on a Intel GMA Chip!

Known Issues:

-DX10 is not working, sorry.
- you cannot use High Textures or the Wrapper will crash.

- Antialiasing can make graphical problems.
Example: (thanks to Taeki)

- High Shaders are causing graphical corruption.
UPDATE: Fixed all shaders are working now.

If you experience other graphic problems, then you might have a autoexec.cfg or system.cfg file, that does not work with
Cider. Example of pictures you can get:

Fixed with updated wrapper. All graphical console commands (expect from high textures and antialiasing settings) are working now.

Installation:
- patch you install on 1.2 minimum, otherwise the game will not start
- no-cd patch your Crysis Insallation, then look at this disk image:

Do I need to say more?

  • 1.1 - updated CiderX 5290 Wrapper. Fixed different graphical commands and settings

That was no what I want to know. I simply want to know if there is any progress in implementing DirectX 10 into cider?

Well, there's always progress... But the progress is very small. It wont be workable for a long time still.
Has anyone tried Crysis 2 (demo) for this new cider wrapper?
the beta does not work, because of fullscreen issues. The multiplayer demo released on the 1st of march could work.
Think of me as the greatest cretin but I really thought about installing Win7 on my iMac just for playing Crysis 2!

But I hope there will be a working cider wrapper soon and it won't take another several years to play it as it was the case with part one of this game...
how can the console be opened in the game?
thnx Drakulix for creating this wrapper, was looking for a mac port of crysis for ages!!!
hey im a noob at this but i did everything right and it came up then i went to settings and clicked to exit full screen then it closed i opened it again i could hear it but it wasnt coming up like the menu and stuff i uninstalled it and re-installed it twice and still the same problem plz help as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Jake
Never use Windowed Mode in Cider Ports... Use the command + enter command instead... To fix this error you need to delete the game saves, where those graphical options are saved. They are in /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Application Support/Crysis
cool thanks did this going to give it another go hope it works
When it gets to contact and says press any key i press a key and it closes the game???

Ok this may be a stupid question my friends but, how do I install crysis? what do i use?
Download the windows install files for the game or buy the disc and then use this - viewtopic.php?f=238&t=4799 -  to install the files and then just drag and drop into the Cider Crysis wrapper
