Crysis is a science fiction first-person shooter video game developed by Crytek Frankfurt, published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows, and released in November 2007. It is the first game of a trilogy. A separate game entitled Crysis Warhead was released on September 12, 2008, and follows similar events as Crysis but from a different narrative perspective. Crysis, Crysis Warhead and a multiplayer expansion called Crysis Wars were re-released as a compilation pack titled Crysis Maximum Edition on 5 May 2009.
The game is based in a future where an ancient alien spacecraft has been discovered beneath the ground on an island near the coast of the East Philippines. The single-player campaign has the player assume the role of United States Delta Force operator Jake Dunn, referred to in-game by his call sign, Nomad. Nomad is armed with various futuristic weapons and equipment, most notably a "Nano Muscle Suit" which was inspired by a real-life military concept. In Crysis, the player fights both North Korean and extraterrestrial enemies, in various environments on and around a tropical island in the Pacific near Korea.

Personal Notes:
BIG THANKS to rynotheking14, who discovered, that the 4983 Cider Wrapper can launch Crysis.
I bug fixed his beta Wrapper pretty much and most of all fixed a save bug, that crashed the wrapper every
time you tried to get in-game. Now it runs pretty good.
UPDATE, builded from scratch 5290 CiderX 1.2.1 Wrapper.
And thanks to Taeki, who tested this wrapper on an ATi Card. The sceenshot above was taken on his Mac !!!

Minimum System Requirements:
- OS: Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard / Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
- RAM: 2048 MB
- Video: minimum is 9400/320M on nVidia. 9600/330M GT should be able to run this on medium details.
No idea, what is the minimum on ATi, but on ATI Radeon HD 4850 it runs on medium/high setting in Full HD resolution.

- about 13 GB Hard Drive Space required

don't even think about running this on a Intel GMA Chip!

Known Issues:

-DX10 is not working, sorry.
- you cannot use High Textures or the Wrapper will crash.

- Antialiasing can make graphical problems.
Example: (thanks to Taeki)

- High Shaders are causing graphical corruption.
UPDATE: Fixed all shaders are working now.

If you experience other graphic problems, then you might have a autoexec.cfg or system.cfg file, that does not work with
Cider. Example of pictures you can get:

Fixed with updated wrapper. All graphical console commands (expect from high textures and antialiasing settings) are working now.

Installation:
- patch you install on 1.2 minimum, otherwise the game will not start
- no-cd patch your Crysis Insallation, then look at this disk image:

Do I need to say more?

Hi

I've have this running on both my iMac and now my Mac book pro, can anyone tell me how to transfer my game save file between the two?

Cheers
AdamB

Depending on the version of my wrapper your are running, there are three possibilities of, where they could be saved.

1. in the wrapper contents, go to your game folder. there is a folder called %userprofile%. And in the "Game" folder there is also a %userprofile% folder. Both can contain the saves.
2. in your documents folder can be a folder  called my games with a crysis folder in it.
3. possibility: go to /users/your user name/library/preferences/crysis preferences/p_drive

There are no other possibilities.
I hope this helps you.
the path is ~/library/preferences/crysis 2 preferences/p_drive/user/my documents/crysis2
Wondering if this works on MBA 11 :D

If it does then I don't have to go bootcamp direction :D

probably not...the macbook air just doesn't have enough power to run it...you can try but no guarantee that it will work
I'm giving Crysis Warhead port ago... I prefer warhead to the original crysis :-)

will let you all know :D
Wow, went through about 4 hours of trouble and trying to understand how cider works and now i can play crysis.
It was really really worth it!

-EDIT-

How can i run this in devmode?
My computer:
CPU: 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo
Memory: 3GB
Graphic Card: RadeonX1600, 128MB

The game runs smooth on low settings. But at "Paradise Lost" level, the graphic has some serious render issues. The character is not fully rendered, and the whole game is lagging.
That may be caused by your old graphic card. I know nobody else, who is expiriencing those problems.
ya thats what i was thinking, because the whole level is snowing, the snow might be the cause.
having trouble patching with crossover any ideas?

*EDIT* got it installed and patched to 1.2 with installer, but the no-cd patches i got off the internet wont install due to some error, anyone got a link to a working no-cd patch?

thanks!
i have a problem... when i start the game it give me an error and ask me to debug it... if i answer yes it crash, if i answer no it don't start. what can i do???
Excuse me for the english... i'm italian
The error text says: Exception raised (title) Unhandled page fault on write access to 0xbd23bf4b at adress 0x3792c43d. Do you wish to debug it?

Are you using version 1.2 or 1.2.1?
I have 17" Mac book pro
4Gb RAM
188Gb Hard disk space free
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT
MAC OS 10.6.8

On Medium settings getting a frame rate of hardly 7-8 fps
On Low settings it gets just a bit better but not smooth enough to enjoy the game.

Any Help???

Thanx

17"? Maybe lower the resolution.
The graphics card is not best and if you play on full hd, you cannot expect a good framerate.
Playing the game at 1024 X 640
There are people on this forum playing on higher resolution then this with similar config and still running it smooth.
Could there be some problem with my hardware or installation.
