Crysis Warhead, like the original Crysis, is set in the near future when an ancient alien spacecraft is discovered on an island east of the Philippines. The single-player campaign has the player assume the role of former SAS Delta Force operator Sergeant Michael Sykes, referred to in-game by his call sign, Psycho. Psycho's arsenal of futuristic weapons builds on those showcased in Crysis, with the introduction of Mini-SMGs which can be dual-wielded, a six-shot grenade launcher equipped with EMP grenades, and the destructive, short ranged Plasma Accumulator Cannon (PAX). The highly versatile Nanosuit returns. In Crysis Warhead, the player fights North Korean and extraterrestrial enemies, in many different locations, such as a tropical island jungle, inside an "Ice Sphere", an underground mining complex, which is followed by a convoy train transporting an unknown alien object held by the North Koreans, and finally, to an airfield. Like Crysis, Warhead uses Microsoft Direct3D 10 (DirectX 10) for graphics rendering. Crytek have also recently added a Crysis Wars mod for the Sandbox 2 editor, the same tool that Crytek used to create the game.
Personal Notes:
Very BIG thanks to Drakulix who helped me figure out how to fix the save bug. Without him, we wouldn't be able to save!
Runs quite well at "minimum" and "mainstream" settings on a 2008 MacBook Pro with a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256 MB VRAM.
Minimum System Requirements:
- OS: Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard / Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo
- RAM: 2 GB
- Video: 256 MB vRAM, ( 512 MB vRAM Highly Recommended)
- about 6.1 GB Hard Drive Space required
Known Issues:
TEXTURE QUALITY CANNOT EXCEED MAINSTREAM OR ELSE THE GAME WILL CRASH!!!
All other settings can be whatever you wish.
I hope to fix this with a newer Cider wrapper when possible.
Installation:
Drag your cracked "Crysis WARHEAD" folder to "/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive" and play!!!

what did you change between the old and the new wrapper?
Maybe I can find a way to build that into our wrappers,
without slowing down ati users.

taeki with the 5290 wrapper try switching GLSL to "M" while leaving FBOBackbuffer to "Y"
Performance better, or even worse

FBOBackbuffer is already enabled (im pretty sure it would be buggy as hell and unplayable if you deactivate it…).
Edit: Set GLSL to "M" improved the performance A LOT!
If I set it to "M", I get ~15 frames with all setings on Enthusiast!
And when I set GLSL to "Y" I have ~0.3 frames :D
Didn't expected such a performance boost
I will compare the final performance of the both wrappers later.
wow! this is great.
this is also the first build to support "win7"
dunno if it it makes much off a performance difference but this is great.
ps try this build with mw2!!!
if you ever come up with a miraculous way to fix the texture settings crash then please let me know as well but i do not think this will be fixed until a later cider build.

Believe it or not, but the first Cider build that come across that supported "win7" and "winvista" (or maybe it was just "vista", cant remember now) was a 3xxx build. Cant quite remember which one now. (i think it was 3662 I tested it with)
Once again though, good job on getting warhead working!
Ill test it when I get home.
I couldnt get Warhead working in Wineskin when I tried a while back with wine 1.2 (with or without punkbuster)
wrapper now updated with performance fix!
enjoy!
enjoy!
For me it freezes and quits at exactly 80% of loading of first level.
Just finished Crysis with few problems (occasional in-game freeze, but nothing unplayable) but Warhead won't get past 80% to begin game. I used Mainstream or less for all settings for both games.

- fixed it but then got an unusual crash on save/load:
Cider C Runtime Library
['.\_open.c' (289)::_openfile():ERROR->invalid parameter! {expression='bad mode specifier}
Does it has something with game own config? There was already a report about buggy saves in original Crysis:
viewtopic.php?f=234&t=5664
Darkuser's Crysis project
'I found a problem. it won't let me load saved games. (not sure if this is known or not, but I thought I would mention it)
EDIT: i installed the new CFG, and that seem's to have fixed it.'

It runs very well. No problems in the menu, intros are playing fine and no ingame problems so far.
The performance is very good.
I am able to play with ~30-50 frames if I set every setting on Mainstream (of course Full HD resolution: 1920x1200).
If i set everything on Gamer (except Textures) it will be a little bit laggy but not unplayable.
It was just a quick test. Im pretty sure I am able improve the performance if I use my own configs :)
But I found one bug…
Don't turn on Antialiasing or the game will look like this:
Everything else works perfect!
ATI Status: Green :Bravo:
I also made some ingame screenshots to let you see how good it runs:
Without displayinfo:
They have been made on 1920x1200 and Mainstream graphics (doesn't it look pretty nice for medium graphics?) :)
Its also working if I set everything (except Textures) on Enthusiast.
But then I just have ~6-9 frames and 17 frames on this screenshot :D
