Bulletstorm is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a space pirate who must escape a planet populated by mutant cannibals. Players use futuristic machine guns, shotguns, magnum revolvers, assault rifles, and chain guns to perform over-the-top kills that dismember and decapitate foes. Injured enemies emit large sprays of blood that stain the ground and surrounding walls. Specialty kills (i.e., Skillshots) represent the most intense instances of violence: enemies can be dismembered with explosives; impaled on spikes; and drilled into walls, resulting in body parts breaking into pieces.

Wow, very nice one :Bravo:

It's not cider... got my hopes up. :P
My download was corrupted so I cant test it but it looks like a CiderX wrapper to me?
Unless he's just using the CXEx part of the CiderX wrapper?

Already? Way to go.

My download was also corrupted, but it is very possible that he has it booting with CXEx Ebony... CiderX, regardless of Cider build, contains CXEx Ebony... Continue testing...

hey guys! have used CiderX Porter instead of CXEx Porter. CiderX5414 - 10.6.0 - Dragon Age II Package.
in XWrapper have changed Cider Engine to CX, where former fails to load game. I'm a newbie & this is my first hands on porting.. really appreciate your help to understand things better.

Example: CXEx Carbon or CXEx Ebony etc. instead of CiderX 5413

That's fine, you just need to change the port info in this thread from Cider to CXEx and the engine name

done and done....and by the sounds of it you may also want to re-archive the wrapper and re-upload. That's a lot of corrupted extractions. Overall though the post kicks ass and it's great that you got this game working. Welcome to PortingTeam forums.

Well if you have no remaining Cider Engine using part in the XWrapper, you can also use CXEx and the wrapper would be smaller.
I recommend to recreate this wrapper with The CXEx Porter, because the cider engines is not used.
I only included the option of starting applications in CX for fetching error messages or using it for config programs or dedicated servers for example,
but starting the main game via cider. I think I should remove this option or mark it as advanced option, because it is confusing newbies, I think.
For the compression always use the compression methods of the CiderX / CXEx Porter, if you used a CiderX/CXEx Wrapper, by starting the Porter app,
while holding the ALT-Key. It is saver and would not destroy any permissions for sure.
Anyway good work and Welcome to the community.
When I start it I only get this launcher but nothing happens… :unknown:

@taeki copy files to Bulletstorm folder Program Files/EA/Bulletstorm i.e. Binaries, StormGame, Support, Engine.. 'll work.
@dankob @drakulix thanks guys! will use CXEx Porter & update thread later today.
one thing, how can i find which Wine framework 'Bottle' is there in Cider, viz. Ebony, Carbon etc. sorry, unable to trace it.

Use Carbon and I'm sure it'll work without issues
@dankob trying that! :) how can i find which wine bottle has been implemented in Cider. WineSkin & CXEx already states that but none in Cider Info.
secondly, is it possible to define min RAM required in wine, not vRam for eg. CoD BlackOps utilizes 1024MB normally, can change to 4096MB in sys file & that boosts games performance drastically.. but not in Wine, is there any way to do such inside Wine.

Theres a patch to change it, but I'm not sure if it works anymore. Heres the link though http://portingteam.c...edirect.php?htt ... vComment51
I doubt it will apply to the latest Wine source anymore, so you would have to manually make the edit in the mmap.c source file.
If you dont know how to or what patching the wine source is, then heres a nice tutorial DankoB wrote @ viewtopic.php?f=118&t=4563 It's a bit outdated but it's all pretty much the same procedure.
This is only for use with Wineskin and/or normal Wine though, not CXEx or Cider/X.
You would follow those instructions up until the build part. When you get to that, open Wineskin winery.app and click the "+" button, click "custom build an engine".
P.S. You need the 10.5 SDK that you get with an XCode 3 install (should be on your applications disk). Without this you cant custom build an engine. (Well, you could if you point it to the 10.6 SDK im guessing, but you may as well just use the 10.5 SDK)
