You control a young boy who wakes up in a forest with no indication of who you are, how you got there, or where you're going. You set out to explore this bizarre environment but soon find it to be a dangerous place, at which point your motivation becomes clear: you need to get the hell out of there. No cut scenes or loading screens will interrupt the action, making it easy to be swept away in Limbo's disturbing world. From beginning to end, the game never stops surprising, delighting, and horrifying the player.

The story in Limbo is never properly detailed in the game. The only written source of the game's story can be found on the internet. In Limbo, a young boy is lost in the woods. He is on a quest trying to find his lost sister. This is never stated in the game itself. There is no dialogue throughout the game and there is no text to advance the plot.

The game uses a strange atmosphere instead of the usual narrative found in most games. Limbo's plot is open and has a lot of space for various interpretations, particularly involving the game's mysterious ending.

Minimum System Requirements:
OS: Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard / 10.6 Snow Leopard / 10.7 Lion
Processor: 2 GHz
Memory: 512MB
Hard Disk Space: 150MB
Video Card: 5 years or younger. Integrated graphics and very low budget cards may not work. Shader Model 3.0 required

As stated above; GMA may not work due to Shader Model 3.0 being required (not sure if GMA cards support that).

Known Issues:
- None.

Installation:
- Extract with 7zX to ensure there is no problems
- Install the game into the wrapper
- Double Click & Enjoy!

Note: second download link uses a WS7 CXG10.1.1 Engine

Video Card : Nvidia MCP79 AHCI

if you need i can upload my version for you.

Thanks & good night
I guess you mean drive_c/Program Files?

So the screen is black and nothing happens? No errors and no crashes?
I'm using the THETA release by the way. Not sure if theres any difference between official or other releases.
Try holding option and double click the Limbo wrapper. Go into screen options and set it to Automatic.
See if that helps.
If not, then go back to where Screen Options is but click on the Advanced button this time. Press on Test Run, and when the game closes (by either crashing or you closing it yourself) post up the logs to pastebin.com and then the link to here.
can you help they are one sound error in the game.

when i play it for a few mins the sound was off
can you help?
Yep I was meaning 'program files', my bad I was tired.

I have black screen and no crashes but I'm not sure the game is really launched (I don't heard anything else than the 'ambiant sound' of menu). I'm using the "THETA" release too.

I've try to change the "set screen" option and to put in automatic too, it change nothing.
After test run (closing the app myself) there is my logs :
http://pastebin.com/nNxChBB8

Thanks for your help. ^^

Sound works continuously for me, tried playing it for most of an hour with no issue.
What happens when the sound turns off? Is it a certain part in the game or just random?

You could post the logs I guess, not sure if something would be mentioned in there but it's worth a shot. Instructions on getting logs is in a post above.

Hmm, try option click the wrapper > advanced > tools > wine tricks > run d3dx9. If the problem is still there, try running directx9 from wine tricks.
So I have run D3DX9, Winetricks tell me :

Quote

Executing w_do_call d3dx9
d3dx9 already installed, skipping

Winetricks Finished!!
Unfortunatly I still have black screen when I launch Limbo, thanks for your help.

Cheers

Try in winetricks multisampling=disabled
If that doesn't work try ddr=opengl
If its still not working then do ddr=gdi and orm=backbuffer

Other then that I'm not really sure :/ The only other thing I can think of is because your still using Leopard

Your problem is at this line btw
err:d3d:context_set_draw_buffer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glDrawBuffer() @ context.c / 1933
According to http://bugs.winehq.o...ug.cgi?id=25324 the problem should be fixed by disabling AA (multi-sampling) and possibly by using windowed mode. That can be set in "screen options" if you want to give it a try.
An older version of Wine might work as well, but it would be hard for me to find out which one because I don't have the problem. If you have Wineskin Winery installed, you can do this by downloading a few different engines through the winery app and then open the Limbo wrapper > advanced > tools > change engine used.
multisampling=disabled -> nope :(
ddr=opengl -> nope :(
ddr=gdi -> nope :(
orm=backbuffer -> It works ! Hurray ! :D

I prefer Leopard, I have SL but I don't used it since a long time. (don't talk me about "ILion" :p)

So, many thanks to have follow my request & help me to install it, you rocks playn ! ^^

-> The game run fine, but I have a glitch in the screen :
Everything look normal
Spoiler

but after few seconds :
Spoiler
It's strange, don't you think ?

In conclusion it's not a big issue. If there is no way to fix it it's not a drama lol.

So big thanks for this wrapper ! :)

Ps : Do you have an idea how support joystick in the game ? (it's optional I'll not boring you about that ^^')
for the bug sound and graphic glitches try with the CXG10.1.1 engine
no problem for me with this engine and the ATI card

The backbuffer is the cause of that. It always gives me graphics errors whenever I use it.

Thanks for the hint Crowie! I'll put up a port with that engine

Edit: It's up in the first post.
Thanks to Crowie and Playn ! Your both explications are very usefull. :)

I've finished the game with CXG10.1.1 engine, no prob (except the backbuffer issue) the game run really nice !
thanks for the port - works great! very appreciated :)

edit: played for an hour and i didn't notice any graphical glitches. runs flawelessly on my mashine with the CXG engine  :good:
Thanks playn and Crowie -- been looking forward to this one for a while now.
Great port and game! Thanks! :)

One issue I have though is the vsync tearing is really annoying. I see no gfx option to enable vsync. Is there some setting in Wine that allows you force vsync on?

Thanks!
Yeah the game lacks some settings options for whatever reason, but luckily theres a setting in the "settings.txt" file in the Program Files/LIMBO directory.

Change
use30hz = false
To
use30hz = true
and it should work fine. I haven't tested this though.
