Download Wrapper Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines (Steam Compatible) 1.1

Screenshots
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, abbreviated as Bloodlines or VTMB, is a role-playing video game for Windows developed by Troika Games in 2004. Like Activision's Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption, Bloodlines is set in White Wolf, Inc.'s Vampire: The Masquerade universe also known as the World of Darkness (WoD), but it is not a sequel to the earlier game. The game allows the player to choose one of several different vampire clans and progress through the game according to the different strengths and weaknesses of the player's character, as in its paper and pencil role-playing origins.

There are two download links.
You'll only need the one marked "original", the second one is added if you have issues with the first.
The steam compatibility files are only added in the original, but can be transefered over to the update.

Personal Notes:
I used the Steam Version with the unofficial 7.7 patch from: http://www.patches-s..._bloodlines.php
I have added all files needed to get the Steam Version working and also added modified files to enable widescreen resolutions.
I have not tested retail/DVD version, but it is very likely to work, I would recommend adding the 7.7 patch to that as well.
thedoctor45 has previously made a very nice port of this game, but I doubt the older cider versions work on Lion. (I haven't tried tho)

edit: I got one report that patch 7.9 does NOT work, I tested with 7.7

edit: I have now finished the entire game on this wrapper. I've figured out some tweaks, so check out the "known issues" and the fix for water. I did play the first 15 hours on my MacBook Air and the last 25 on my hackintosh. The game runs flawless if configured correctly. It do however crash from time to time, but this is also a very know problem in windows. I've never crashed outside loading from one area to another, so hit quick save before you zone.

Reviews:
Gamespot.com Video review 7.7/10
IGN.com Review 8.4/10

Tested with Nvidia GTX 285 1GB and Intel HD.
It actually runs very well with Intel HD, been playing for an hour on my MBA with Intel HD and with highest settings (at 1440x900) it sustains about 40 FPS at all times!

System Requirements
OS: Mac OS X Mac OS X 10.6.7 Snow Leopard or Lion 10.7 or later.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
RAM: 2GB+
Video: ATI, nVidia or Intel HD

Installation

Also If you use steam install:  (I do not think you actually need to go thru all this, but If you are gonna test if it works on your machine and you have win7 x64 before you move it to the wrapper.)

Spoiler

Known Issues:
-Game sometimes crashes when you quit, just hit cmd+alt+esc if it hangs.
-On my MacBook Air there is missing some info on character create (can't see the skills).
Same with quest log. Opening the wrapper and use XCOnfig to Disable "FBO-BackBuffer" fixes it!
- There is a slight bug on reflective water surfaces (in the sewers) which makes it reflect way too much, it's just cosmetic and It also gives the game a performance dive when it happens, (I did do several quests in the sewer already on my MBA, it just lags a bit). The game also lags a bit when I'm on the shore, due to water. For some reason it does not when I'm on the ship, although the water aren't that reflective out there. Download the fix I've posted under the wrapper download, should fix all water effects!
-The game crashes sometimes when loading to another area. Believe me, it does that in windows too. I've played the game for over 15 hours now. Sometimes it can crash twice in 15 mins, sometimes you can play for 3 hours with no crashes. Just hit "F9" to "quick save" before you zone.

If you have buggy water textures (most likely.. ), download this file and replace the C_drive/windows folder with Download 2

Media:
As usual, all media from my own port, this is how the game look on my MacBook Air!!
(took pix in both windowed and fullscreen mode)

And SPellForce 2
viewtopic.php?f=45&t=8949

both green!
Woah, this game looks...interesting? I'll give it a try! Thanks :)
Thanks to some changes in the .dlls in 7119 framework this game will no longer have buggy water effects, water now looks superb!
Download the fix (added to first post) and replace the c_drive/windows folder with the one in the fix.
Hey great game, haven't been able to finish it. Definitely have to give this a try on my ATi graphics card. Thank you!
A classic. With the right patches, its easily one of the best games ever. Good job!

And Thanks! :D
It doesn't seem to work with the original DVD install, unfortunately... Anyone else tried it with that yet? I just get the xLauncher splash screen and it freezes there. Even force quitting the app doesn't remove the splash screen.

OS X 10.6.8 - ATI Radeon HD 4850

EDIT: I totally forgot you need to install the unofficial patch. Works great once you install 1.2 official and the latest unofficial. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, I'll mark this green for ATI too now!
With non-Steam version, I can get to the Main Menu screen. However, clicking on New Game resulted in this error: http://i.imgur.com/fp4cQ.png

I used the unofffical patch 7.9 with your high-res patch. Any help would be much appreciated.

Need some more info!
Computer speccs, OS version etc.

Also some logs would be great.

Thank you for the quick reply.

My Macbook Pro is a 13-inch, mid-2010 model with Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, 4GB RAM & GeForce 320M 256 MB, running OS X Lion 10.7.3 (the latest)

In the Log folder I have 3 log files, which I've uploaded here:

LastCider.log
LastCXRun.log
LastCXX11.log

Within the Main menu, I could select Options & apply changes just fine. It's when I specificaly clicked on New Game that the game crashed.

Tell me if you need anything else.
That's very helpful!
Did you make any changes to my wrapper, except installing the game?

dlopen(/Users/myUserName/Downloads/VampireMasq/Vampire.app/Contents/Frameworks/libwineserver.dylib, 2): Symbol not found: _ipcCheckForEvents
Referenced from: /Users/myUserName/Downloads/VampireMasq/Vampire.app/Contents/Frameworks/libwineserver.dylib
As i can see the wrapper has DRM attached, which mine shouldn't have, unless I uploaded the wrong one.
Could have happened after megaupload went down.
Can you check the framework folder and post the contents in version.txt?
Edit: I'm mistaken, since game actually starts. It's awhile since I posted it.
The problem seems to come from here:

err:win:WIN_FindWndPtr window 10024 belongs to other process

Could be a process hanging, have you tried rebooting the machine since you installed it?
