Download Wrapper Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines (Steam Compatible) 1.1
Please vote for the Quality of this Port / Wrapper, not for the Game or Application!
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, abbreviated as Bloodlines or VTMB, is a role-playing video game for Windows developed by Troika Games in 2004. Like Activision's Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption, Bloodlines is set in White Wolf, Inc.'s Vampire: The Masquerade universe also known as the World of Darkness (WoD), but it is not a sequel to the earlier game. The game allows the player to choose one of several different vampire clans and progress through the game according to the different strengths and weaknesses of the player's character, as in its paper and pencil role-playing origins.
There are two download links.
You'll only need the one marked "original", the second one is added if you have issues with the first.
The steam compatibility files are only added in the original, but can be transefered over to the update.
Personal Notes:
I used the Steam Version with the unofficial 7.7 patch from: http://www.patches-s..._bloodlines.php
I have added all files needed to get the Steam Version working and also added modified files to enable widescreen resolutions.
I have not tested retail/DVD version, but it is very likely to work, I would recommend adding the 7.7 patch to that as well.
thedoctor45 has previously made a very nice port of this game, but I doubt the older cider versions work on Lion. (I haven't tried tho)
edit: I got one report that patch 7.9 does NOT work, I tested with 7.7
edit: I have now finished the entire game on this wrapper. I've figured out some tweaks, so check out the "known issues" and the fix for water. I did play the first 15 hours on my MacBook Air and the last 25 on my hackintosh. The game runs flawless if configured correctly. It do however crash from time to time, but this is also a very know problem in windows. I've never crashed outside loading from one area to another, so hit quick save before you zone.
Reviews:
Gamespot.com Video review 7.7/10
IGN.com Review 8.4/10
Tested with Nvidia GTX 285 1GB and Intel HD.
It actually runs very well with Intel HD, been playing for an hour on my MBA with Intel HD and with highest settings (at 1440x900) it sustains about 40 FPS at all times!
System Requirements
OS: Mac OS X Mac OS X 10.6.7 Snow Leopard or Lion 10.7 or later.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
RAM: 2GB+
Video: ATI, nVidia or Intel HD
Installation
Read the bundled read me files:
Also If you use steam install: (I do not think you actually need to go thru all this, but If you are gonna test if it works on your machine and you have win7 x64 before you move it to the wrapper.)
http://forums.steamp... ... ?t=2025035
Known Issues:
-Game sometimes crashes when you quit, just hit cmd+alt+esc if it hangs.
-On my MacBook Air there is missing some info on character create (can't see the skills).
Same with quest log. Opening the wrapper and use XCOnfig to Disable "FBO-BackBuffer" fixes it!
-There is a slight bug on reflective water surfaces (in the sewers) which makes it reflect way too much, it's just cosmetic and It also gives the game a performance dive when it happens, (I did do several quests in the sewer already on my MBA, it just lags a bit). The game also lags a bit when I'm on the shore, due to water. For some reason it does not when I'm on the ship, although the water aren't that reflective out there. Download the fix I've posted under the wrapper download, should fix all water effects!
-The game crashes sometimes when loading to another area. Believe me, it does that in windows too. I've played the game for over 15 hours now. Sometimes it can crash twice in 15 mins, sometimes you can play for 3 hours with no crashes. Just hit "F9" to "quick save" before you zone.
If you have buggy water textures (most likely.. ), download this file and replace the C_drive/windows folder with Download 2
Media:
As usual, all media from my own port, this is how the game look on my MacBook Air!!
(took pix in both windowed and fullscreen mode)

Gameplay on MacBook Air!
-enjoy

- Updated file descriptions
Sadly, but I'm from Germany... That means I'll not able to download an original steam-copy legally anyway? )
For unpacking I've exactly used The Unarchiver too )
For your second varian of wrapper, there are LastCider.log
Just the same problem...
Maybe it depends on version of some game dll's
I'l try to find and download any other version of the game that will run both Windows and your Mac OS inside one of your wrappers.
I still hope to play this game on my Macbook Air )

The wrapper still crashed before it starts loading the game.
That is the whole log?
I'm not really sure whats the issue here

Yes, that's a whole log...
I'll write here when I try another version of game.

Bad news... I've tried another version of game(DVD from FEDERATION), and still the same thing (
LastCider.log
I think the problem lies somewhere within the wrapper... Maybe at memory allocation or something like that...
Any ideas?

Update: the federation version with the second wrapper shows absolutely the same results! (
Scheiße!

I've just tried to launch a game inside the clean Cider 7119 from Psychonauts, and there is still the same problems...
There are two probably clues:
1. The game itself just incompatible with the Cider engine(I mean only mine version of the Game)
2. There are some problems depending on Mac OS X 10.7.3 (maybe on any system drivers or something like that)
especially strange that this version of game work flawlessly on any windows PC (I've tried on XP and Win7 32)...
I'm so sad (
P.S. I'm going to try to somehow run this version of the game within the Wineskin

Hm...
I've just trying to run my version inside "clutz's" wrapper and my own made up WineSkin with wine engine 1.5.1 and there are some interesting moments:
Firstly, I've used an original HOODLUM's NoCD from my 3CD English version and it crashes without entering a main menu, but I've changed It to another NoCD and it works! (but It's too early to celebrate, because all I've reached is only the main menu. the game crashes at any try to start a new game).
But now I have a real crash log inside the both wrappers of the game itself inside game's directory: crash(4-14-2012 01.39.18).log
And here is LastCider.log of the "clutz's" first wrapper(his the second one not works for me anyway)
Also here is a LastRunWine.log from mine WineSkin wrapper
I'll try to find some different version of the game to test on both wrappers...

And one important detail:
All the versions of the game I tried works perfect on PC even from USB flash(I've tested through VMWare Fusion with Win XP inside and the real PC runs under Win7)

Also, I've tried to run default version of Federation Release(included unofficial Patch 6.0) — that crashes before main menu with the same exception...
search continues
search continues
I've tried almost everything(except an original Steam version, because I can't find it nowhere) but it's not goes anyway...
still nothing... (
I'm start thinking that it's impossible with my version of the game...
Maybe I'll find a proper steam version further... but now it's still nothing )

I'VE GOT IT!!!
THE PROBLEM IS WITHIN Unofficial Patch 7.9 !!!
Somehow the patch crashes an original game after installation(I've tried on the Steam version)...
But I don't know how instantly it does...
Clean Steam version without any patches or with Official Patch 1.2 works flawless inside the wrapper, but if you'll instal an Unofficial Patch 7.9, the game will be corrupted inside Mac OS X (but it still works great on Win PC)...
Sadly, but true — I can't find a proper patched game with 7.9 on the board on Mac OS X...

Thanks for the info, I updated the main post that people should be careful with using 7.9 and instead use 7.7 (which I did)

It can be several reasons. Which application did you use to unpack my archive?
Some unpackers like stuffit does destroy 7z packs, use The Unarchiver.
There are two wrappers available for download, try test the other one (vampire.zip or vampiremasq.7z)
When game is patched steam version and cd/dvd version should be pretty much the same.
As for:
1: too bad troika went bankrupt, €20 for an additional copy is a bit much ye
2: some regions do require low violence, often germany and australia,.
3: it works well,i used it.
