Game Description:
Tropico 4 is a video game developed by Haemimont Games and published by Kalypso Media. It is a construction and management simulation video game, which focuses around a city building simulation. Like the first and third game in the series, the game centers on a customizable main character by the title of "El Presidente" - the dictator that runs the island banana republic. Known Issues:
To enable camera panning if you don't have a mouse with a wheel (ex: touchpad or magic mouse):
  • Fn + double click (run) the wrapper. Keep Fn down until you see the Wineskin Config window
  • Go to Advanced
  • Click the Options tab
  • Check the "Emulate three button mouse" option
  • Close everything and run the game
  • While in game use option + click to rotate the camera
  • If for any reason you just see a black screen and an arrow cursor after changing the options just restart your mac and everything will be fine again.
Keyboard cursors do not work for moving the camera
ATI cards must have shadows disabled for now

In the next version of the wrapper I will try to address these issues

Installation:
  • Install using Wineskin Installer (Fn + Double click, then "Install Windows Software")
  • or paste your game directory from Bootcamp / Virtual machine into the wrapper's Program Files (Option-click and Show Contents)
Notes:
  • My retail DVD only seems to have serial number protection. I didn't have to use a NODVD patch! So, DRM works I guess?
  • My i5 mid 2010 MBP with the GT330M gets a decent 30 FPS with graphics set to medium and 1440x900! It looks awesome even with these settings so I guess you could get even better graphics with a stronger Mac!
  • This is my last wrapper for 2011! (It's 31/12/2011). So Happy new Year everyone!

What's New in Version 1.2.1514 (See full changelog)

  • Fixed compatibility with 10.7.5 and 10.8.2
  • Updated Wineskin to 2.5.8
  • Updated Wine to 1.5.14
  • Fixed some graphical glitches

It's working, but on ATI only without shadows. Shadows are not displayed correctly
Did you try messing around with the graphics settings in game, see if this fixes the shadows problem? Are shadows the only glitch that you experience?
Yes I did. I tried every combination. This glitch disappear when you turn shadows off. Also sometimes disappear mouse cursor. Helps restarting the game.
Unfortunately you'll have to wait for a newer version of the wrapper because it only works with wine's dlls. At least the game is playable!

You're right. That's an easy fix:
  • Fn + double click (run) the wrapper. Keep Fn down until you see the Wineskin Config window
  • Go to Advanced
  • Click the Options tab
  • Check the "Emulate three button mouse" option
  • Close everything and run the game
  • While in game use option + click to rotate the camera

(MBP mid-2009, 10.7.3)
Hello in the Game the Mouse Pointer is a Grey Block please Help
How do I disable shadows (I have an ATI card)? The in-game Options menu only lets shadows go down to Low, so I don't think that's it.
