The world of The Witcher 2 is a volatile, violent place filled with selfish, furtive characters. As monster slayer Geralt of Rivia, you'll need to not only combat beasts and bandits, a case of amnesia and the public perception that you're responsible for regicide, but also navigate between powerful figures and unravel complex conspiracies amidst a huge cast of power-obsessed monarchs and magic users. It's an adventure where choices that appear inconsequential slap the story in unexpected directions and one that doesn't compromise its fiction in the name of convenience or accessibility. In some ways those qualities are flaws, but they also contribute to a world that feels convincing, making its initial inaccessibility seem inconsequential relative to the intrigue and revelations embedded further in.

2. Notes

This port was made as a result of teamwork on Skype!
The game is tested on MacBook Pro 2011 (i7@2.2GHz) with AMD6750 and Hackintosh (C2D@3.67Ghz) with Nvidia GTX285. It was tested with Intel HD for fun, it's a slideshow with many graphical bugs.
I have tried to port this earlier, but had issues that was not resolvable before.
After kgamelover1 took contact with me about porting help for this, I decided to give it a go again, and I realized my issues was gone!
After testing it for a few hours on both NVidia and AMD graphics we're sure it does indeed work well on both!
The game is fully playable, cinematics, audio works 100%. Arena is tested, as well as many of the boss fight to see it they work all right. The game can be run in both fullscreen and in windowed mode.

System Requirements

OS: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. 2.8GHz or more
RAM: 4096 MB
Video: nVidia GTX285* or better, AMD 6750M* or better.
These are the minimum if you want 30 FPS on high/medium settings. The reason i posted GTX285 is that the next slower card is 8800GT, which might run ok on low/med settings, but not tested

This game is a hardware killer, so if you have a Mac with Nvidia 9400m/9600m or similar you are out of luck.
There is nothing much we can do about it, it's gonna kill any Mac pre-2010 in windows too.
Please no complains.

Known Issues

- SSAO does make the game too dark, but this is also requiring tons of GPU power so best turn of anyway
- Mouse is sometimes buggy when you start game, just quit and restart.
- Cinematic Field of Depth does make parts of the screen go black in some encounters on NVIDIA only

Installation

Install game on PC/Bootcamp/parallells and update to patch 2.0, but NOT 2.1!!
Put game inside c_drive, inside the wrapper.
Use the Witcher 2 Config to set your settings.
The game is DRM free so no need for cracks, unless you bought it on steam.

Alternative instructions, if you don't have access to a PC/bootcamp/Vmware etc:

Right Click the .app and click Show Package Contents.
Double-click Wineskin.app and click "Install Windows Software"
If using the GOG.com edition:
Spoiler

If you have the retail version (DVDs) or are using SKIDROW's version (please support the devs!)
Spoiler

Use the Config app to change your graphical settings.

Media
There will shortly be gameplay videos from both a MacBookPro2011 (AMD 6750m) and hackPro (GTX285)

Never tried this game, but it looks awesom!!!
nice you get it to work :)
cluthz, you may want to switch up the game temploate you use for posting. I've just removed some of the redundant information that is no longet required in the template but shows up on the side bar of the post now.

Great post either way, good collaboration between the two of you as well....keep up the good work guys!
Yeahhhh man! Awesome!
Just so everyone knows, this beats Skyrim by leaps and bounds.

About the same in windows and mac. Saving goes pretty quick, loading takes like maybe 30 sec to a minute.
Opening load menu takes about 45 seconds when I have 1GB with saves (over 700 save games).

Please give more info.
Do the game start or stuck on load?
What mac do you have, full specs please.
And do you use patch 2.0?
i fixed it, changed the resolution and disabled SSOA
works like a charm! great game, great port
u guys r awesome

Glad it fixed it! SSAO is buggy in wine and makes the game very dark anyways.
First off I want to say great job with the port works great but for my mac i get like some weird graphic problems. like some times the texture of characters and buildings are streatched out. heres my specs. 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB. it will be great if someone can help me. thanks
Have you tried different graphic options?
Also screenshot of the config app and in game would be great
To make a SS ingame,, press cmd+alt+a and wait a sec and game will go into a windowed mode and you can take screenshots.

It could be your graphics card simply have too little memory, 256, where minimum for game in windows is 512

i tried different graphic options but i think it might be my graphics card having too little memory.
Have you tried turning down texture memory size?
Medium is too high for 256MB VRAM, because on medium you try to load 512 mb with textures.
I would also try to turn down decals.

I don't have AMD card myself and kgame have done all the ATI/AMD testing and I've done the nvidia testing.
I do believe that it's most likely your card and the only thing you can try is to play with settings
