Game Description:
Final Fantasy VII (ファイナルファンタジーVII Fainaru Fantajī Sebun) is a role-playing video game developed by Square Soft (now Square Enix) and published by Sony Computer Entertainment as the seventh installment in the Final Fantasy series. It was originally released in 1997 for the Sony PlayStation. It was re-released in 1998 for Microsoft Windows-based personal computer.

Set in a dystopian world, Final Fantasy VII's story centers on mercenary Cloud Strife who joins with several others to stop the megacorporation Shinra, which is draining the life of the planet to use as an energy source. As the story progresses, the situation escalates and Cloud and his allies face Sephiroth, the game's main antagonist.

Personal Notes:
Some call this game the greatest ever made, though I love it, personally I do not even think it is the best in the series (Flame shield put up) . To me that is Final Fantasy IV.

Plot:
Without giving away too much of the plot, to those who do not know it:

Final Fantasy VII begins with Cloud joining AVALANCHE in a series of raids against the Mako reactors surrounding the city of Midgar. Although the first mission is successful, AVALANCHE is trapped at another reactor during a subsequent raid. The reactor explodes, launching Cloud from the upper levels of Midgar into the slums below. He lands on a flower bed, where he is formally introduced to Aeris. Prompted by the arrival of Shinra's Turks operatives sent to capture Aeris, Cloud agrees to be Aeris' bodyguard and defends her from the Turks.

Port Info:
- Port is with CXE Ebony Wineskin 2.5.12 Wine 1.2
- Game has been patched to 1.2
- You need to have your 4 CDS to Play. Or mounted .iso
- This is the non modded version.

Minimum System Requirements:
- OS: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard / Mac OS X 10.7 Lion / Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion (untested on beta builds of 10.9)
- CPU: Intel Core Processor
- RAM: 1024 MB
- Video: nVidia 8xxx Series or AMD 3xxx or 4xxx Series Video Card recommended
- 1.6 gigs of Hard Drive Space required for un-modded game.

Known Issues: *The game only exits with Force quit. If you even click on the quit menu - the option to say yes or no and exit to windows freezes the game. Do not accidentally do this or you could lose your game before you have a chance to save it.* This does not work with the lame Ultimate edition.

****Some people keep saying they do not have a start button mapped on there notebook keyboard - you can easily change this in the config menu -
Since people keep making topics about this - which it kind of seems common sense but whatever - if you want to change your keyboard layout - "start button" etc -

What are you talking about?
It would be good if you could upload a Lion compatible version. Thanks for all your efforts.
Yea, A lion compatible version would be great.
Do anyone know where this game can be bought? Except ebay, since it's quite a hassle buying stuff on ebay on the other part of the world.

I've had so many people telling me that I have to get it, so I guess I have to soon :)
Amazon is your best choice.
Thank you.
Well add a Lion one if you want.

Also if you want use the laptop - keyboard replace your file with this -

Can I get a lion compatible version?
Again it will take a few days but I will get to it.
Okay, so I am way farther along than I was before. At this point I am at a place where I am not sure I can get much farther without help.

I am now having trouble with the OpenGL drivers. My system is failing for 8-bit palleted textures. Now, I am not sure if this is a problem with my mac's hardware, but all of the tests say that for the version I have, I should be green.

Halp?
N00b question, and for that i apologize.  What patch do i use to play without CDs?  The ones in the Goodies folder or the ones in the Misc folder?..I'm assuming it's the Universal crack and i open it with wine/crossover...though tell me if i'm wrong.
So i'm using the Universal Patch to crack it (i'm assuming that's the noCD one).  But when i click the crack button it can't find the game file (which is right in the directory it should be), and instead opens up a search, which is blank.  I can't search in this window to find the right file.  I'm using crossover cos it's a windows exe file...what the heck am i missing?

EDIT: okay got it to search...now the problem is i can't explore the root folder in the wrapper to get to the ff7 app to patch it.  cos it's a shortcut, not an actual folder, and the crack app won't register that.
could you please please please upload a graphic overhaul version?
