Left 4 Dead 2 is a cooperativefirst-person shooter video game. It is the sequel to Valve Corporation's award-winning Left 4 Dead. The game launched on November 17, 2009, for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 in the United States and November 20 in Europe; in 2010, Left 4 Dead 2 was made available to the Steam client for Mac OS X.[6] It builds upon the cooperatively-focused gameplay of the original and uses Valve's proprietary Source engine, the same game engine used in Left 4 Dead. The game made its world premiere at E3 2009with a trailer during the Microsoft press event.[7]
Like the original, Left 4 Dead 2 is set during the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic, and focuses on four survivors fighting against hordes of the infected, who develop severe psychosis and exhibit zombie-like tendencies. The survivors must fight their way through levels, interspersed with safe houses that act as checkpoints, with the goal of reaching a rescue vehicle at the campaign's finale. The gameplay is procedurally altered by an artificial intelligence engine dubbed the "Director" that monitors the players' performance and adjusts the scenario to provide a dynamic challenge. Several new features have been introduced: new types of infected, melee weapons, and a story-arc that connects the game's five campaigns together.[8]
When it was released, it received a combination of positive and negative critical and community reactions. It attracted an unusually high volume of pre-release controversy about the game's graphic content. In response, alterations were made to the cover art[9] and both Australia (due to having no R18+ rating) and Germany refused to rate the unmodified edition.[10] After release however, the game was met with critical acclaim and positive reviews.

k, I love this game! However, I don't see what the difference with this wrapper and the old cxz wrapper is. The cxz wrapper was always non steam....
And there is also a mac version via steam play aviable. In my opinion a really great port they made for l4d2. So go buy it if u like it.
I keep getting system error 32 00403FA4. i click OK and the game closes. help? im running snow leopard 10.6.8.
I have the mac steam version. just giving it to those that unfortunately did not get the Steam version.

i downloaded l4d2 as a torrent which said it was 'ready to go' so i installed it all an when i went to open the application it says "ERROR! cannot run! Engine not installed! engine requirement listed: CXZ black diamond"
so i tried to download this black diamond but cant seem to find it anywhere... i guess it doesnt help i dont know what it is that im downloading too! :S but anyways so i found this website, and this link here, i downloaded it and when i open this app it runs and plays some music and stuff, but when i hit play,says "Whoops! the wrapper cannot start. Please check if the path to the Windows executable is correct.
i thought this was a mac download?

When I open the port it says "...Re-enable texture compression {Link}" Or something similar, what do I do?
