Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO) is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) developed my Turbine for Windows. It started out as a subscription based game but later converted over to the Free to Play business model.

Personal Notes:
This game is pretty fun and has quite a few players online at any given time. The wrapper is configured with a tweaked PyLORTO launcher and should be ready to roll once you install the game's assets.

My System Specs:
- OS:                    Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3
- CPU:                 i7 quad @ 4.6GHz
- RAM:               16GB
- Video:              ATI Radeon HD 6870 1GB
- Disk Space:     about 8.5GB with game assets installed

Known Issues:
Does not shut down from launcher cleanly. After exiting game normally you have to Apple-Q to quit the wrapper.
Graphics tweaking and resolution changing is wonky. Sometimes it'll crash on configuring the various settings.
I'm sure there are other quirks but I have yet to find them in the time it took to get a Paladin to level 6.

Installation:
In order to acquire the game assets you'll need to use a virtual machine or a real Windows installation to execute the DDO downloader form their website, http://www.ddo.com/u...rt/download-ddo. Once the game assets finish downloading you can move them to your Mac OS X desktop and install the game via normal means into the wrapper.

To install the game you'll right click on the wrapper and select 'Show Package Contents'. In the window that just opened up you'll find an icon for Wineskin, double click it. Once it opens you'll want to select 'Install Windows Software'. It'll next open up a Finder window where you'll want to point it to the DDO Install directory. Accept the default options for everything. Once you do this it'll be smooth sailing for the installation.

After the game is installed you should be ready to go. Double click on the 'Dungeons and Dragons Online' icon to start the game.

Looks more like a poor man's version of world of warcraft
lol, yeah it kind of is but the gameplay is really quite different. It's still a pretty fun adventure and the price is right.
Nice port. :-)

Everytime I try to change resolution it hangs. As you wrote it will.

Besides that i works very well.
After selecting 'install windows software' and then choosing the ddo file i get an error message saying "oops no executables found! Maybe the installer failed?" any idea how to fix it? :/
I opened the program and watched the video. After the video a loading screen appears and then my screen goes black. I have to force quit to get off the black screen. For a fraction of a second the screen says Loading New Game Data and Searching for logon server ... (Attempt 1 of 20). Any suggestions?
thanks uploader! i was waiting for this on the mac!
Having the same issue as faltin. Open program, see the video, I get a brief DDO intro screen, then the screen goes black with a cursor and stays that way indefinitely. Tried lots of things, but I'm about out of ideas.
How to you get the game asset if you don't have a Windows or virtual-computer?... o.0
Since last friday two problems appeared:
- the DDO shop does not load.
- random server disconnections.
Up until then everything worked quite well.
You have to update the Wine engine in the wrapper.
Hrm.  Not having any luck running the app since I updated to 10.8.2 from 10.6.8.

Is this likely to be also related to the Wine engine in the wrapper requiring an update?  And if so (at the risk of sounding like the total n00b that I am) how do you do that?  =)
is there any way to point this wrapper through a proxy (via HTTP_PROXY)?  My system freezes after the intro movie and at the full-screen load screen: I get an hourglass that I can move with the mouse but the system is otherwise frozen and needs a hard restart.

Are you by any chance going through an HTTP proxy?  I get stuck at the loading screen, and I suspect a network connection issue due to my proxy.
When I point the Wineskin config to the launcher executable in my existing DDO directory, it just keeps prompting me for a new file. Which file is this looking for? Is there more documentation available for this wrapper?  The only specific files I can see called out in the original XML config file (LotROLinux.config) is 'patchclient.dll', and no .exe files.
You have to copy or move your existing DDO directory into the Program Files directory in the Wrapper.
