Fallout 2 is an role-playing game open world video game developed by Black Isle Studios and published by Interplay in 1998. While featuring a considerably larger game world and a far more extensive storyline, the graphics and game mechanics from Fallout remain mostly unchanged.
The game's story takes place in 2241, 80 years after the events of Fallout. It tells the story of the original hero's descendant and his or her quest to save their primitive tribe from starvation by finding an ancient environmental restoration machine known as the Garden of Eden Creation Kit (GECK).
Personal Notes:
Enjoy this one guys! It was a pain to port because of the (as it is known on the Internet) "rainbow lines" glitch.

Enjoy, guys!
I was about to upload my port, guess i got a bit late.

Anyway, mine is Wine 1.2.3 (Newer ones flicker because of an issue about X11). And have the unofficial patch installed. The best part of it is a new  ddraw renderer, the original one only supports 8bit color mode (which is not supported anymore) and makes the game quite "unplayable" for that. Now it works as if i was playing on Windows or a native Mac version of the game. (In 1024x768)

I have the patch installed as well, just forgot to mention it ;)
It worked great and didn't have the mouse problem that I encountered back when I tried to port the game myself.

However...

Did you have any problems installing the hi-res patch? For some reasons I just can't get it working. Clicking o the Options button resulted in the "patched" menu flickering  for a nanosecond only to lead back to the usual Options menu. Manually setting the ini file did nothing either.

Much appreciated.
You really don't need High-Res patch because it uses the game's original renderer, Killap's unofficial patch solves that issue already

Oh and, to make it work, you have to add Ddraw=Native, Built-in override in WineCFG. It's not gonna work without it

Haha, Puhaha got to it before me. :)
You should already have that override in your wrapper, what's the point of uploading default prefix'd ones ? (except for the filename and icon)
don't work for me

Where'd you get the game from?
Thanks for uploading this. However I am still dealing with the mouse lag glitch that I have never found a solution for with this game. Any idea what I need to do to fix it? I've been wanting to play this game forever :(

This patch sounds quite important: "it fixes well over 800+ bugs left in the game since the official 1.02 patch."
How do we apply it?  I'm using the GSP White Label "Fallout Collection" DVD.
I'm confused on how to install/configure the high resolution patch.  Puhaha stated it wasn't needed after installing the Killap patch, but, if so, how do you set the higher resolutions?  I've attempted to install the patch but after I unpack it into the program directory I can't seem to run the f2_res_patcher.exe as it fails immediately (either install new software or when replacing the exe that the wrapper runs).
Ok, I figured out the high res patch issue.  It was installing but to run it needed Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, which you can get by installing the vcrun6 dll from winetricks.  Badabang, you've got the screen button under 'options'.
I'm having some problems with this.  I get this message when I try to run my GOG version:

"The instruction at 43356f2b referenced memory at 0000008a The memory could not be read from
Clock on OK to terminate the application"

Any ideas?  I installed the patch.
More from debugger:
