Confirmed to work with Legend Of Grimrock 2 (with some issues - known issues)

Legend of Grimrock is a first-person dungeon exploration game with grid-based mazes and freelook while standing in a given square. Players control a party of four adventurers chosen from a pool of pre-generated characters or created from scratch, presumably trying to get an array of abilities. It has a very similar style to older dungeon crawling games such as the Eye of the Beholder, Dungeon Master or Ishar franchise.

Combat is realtime but unfolds at a stately pace. Players click on a combat option corresponding to one of your party members, which gray out for a cooldown period until they're ready to attack again. Spells as of this writing must be dialed in every time they are cast, using rune configurations you find in scrolls. Characters equip arms and armor through a paper-doll interface.

Puzzle solving and exploration utilize the freelook option, which allows you to alter perspective to look at the floor or ceiling, sometimes revealing items or secrets.

The Game now has a native version (steam, humble bundle, gog will get possibly later).

Personal Notes
For those who are younger: This is dungeon crawler game, you may have never encountered a genre like this as last of them was Dungeon Master 2 (1995), i think :)
Game run flawlesly on full settings on Radeon 6750M and is playable on Intel HD 3000 as well with reduced details.

This game will have native version in next weeks/months.

This port is targeted to players, who wants to play it right now and do not want to wait

FAQ
Q: Where are the savegame files?
A: inside wrapper: drive_c/users/Wineskin/My Documents/Almost Human/Legend of Grimrock

Q: Black screen after the launch and I have ATI/AMD radeon and OS X 10.6.8, what to do?
A: There was a bug in ATI driver which was fixed at 10.7.3, if you have CoreI5/7 CPU, you can use integrated graphics for playing the game. This little program can be used to switch between Integrated and Dedicated GPU (always switch before launching the game).

Q: Audio gets cut off after while
A: Try to disable SSAO (worked for few people).

Q: Should I request help here if I am using my own wrapper, instead the provided Julus's one?
A: NO! Use forums for that. I only provide help for people that are using mine wrapper.

Q: The game says that CPU does not met minimal requirements
A: This issue is affecting only new macbooks released 2012 and later. Version 1.3  fixes  the issue

Here's how I got my copy running...
First open the game while holding option, or right-click -> Show package contents -> then open wineskin.
On the wineskin window, press "Advanced".
Then on the bottom right click "Change Engine Used".
If the pulldown menu is blank, you'll need to install Wine.
Find a program called Wineskin Winery, and use it to install 1.3.36.
Then repeat to check the Wine engine used in your wrapper.
This may help, but I have very little experience with Wine myself. :)

And has anyone seen crashes when you get to floor 2? I get them about every 10-12 minutes, freezing the whole system with a reboot being the only option.

I tried everyting you talked about above.  Somewhere along the road, our iMac parted ways.  sadface.  I'll survive.

Don't worry. there will be native port for Mac and iOS in the near future.

Yeah.  I can be patient.  Appreciate your efforts!
well, i am completely new to this.... wineskin, wrapping, and all. i actually bought legend of grimrock - and have the installer. i've installed wineskin and updated it. i've followed to instructions to unload the wrapper and select the executable file. i always get this error; "No new executables found! Maybe the installer failed...?"

i am bummed. i kind of feel like i've tried everything. not sure what to do anymore. any suggestions?
just so you know, i am using a mac pro, with snow leopard, with a graphics card; NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT.

1) You have really old graphics card, it may not run at all, and if you have stock 1GB of Ram, forget about it.
2) When you press "Install  Software", you have to select the install.exe file, installator window should open. If you recieve "No new executables found!" straight away, click advanced and Tools tab and View Last Run Log Files. - send me those logfiles (via PM), maybe there will be something i will able to assist you.

I am running 10.7.3. I have been thinking this could be the problem...

Indeed it is, i just needed to confirm, this game would not work on 10.7.1 either, 10.7.2 or 3 has fixed the problem.
Incredible work! It works perfectly in my old iMac (2006) with an ATI Radeon X1600. I couldn't believe it!  Playing it at windowed size (1028) with all the textures to high!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it!
So if you need to be running OS 10.7.3 if you have an ATI card how come it all runs under Bootcamp under OS 10.6.8 with an ATI card ?

Because it don't. Bootcamp is something like GRUB or LILO on Linux, it allows you to boot different operating system. When you use Bootcamp to boot windows, the MAC OS X is not running at all. You are booting the iwindows instead mac os x, so windows will load all its drivers for devices.

In short, Bootcamp = windows on mac, not on osx.

Also when running bootcamp windows, you will have same performance and bugs as PC counterpart of your config.

I understand that, thank you.
If I'm understanding this correctly - I'd have to set up a Bootcamp partition to get this running on 10.6.8?  VMWare won' cut it?

Bootcamp will 100% work, as this is same thing as having ordinary PC. I don't know about VMWare/Parallels, but there is a slight chance that they do not inherit the Mac OS X bug. Last option is wait for official Mac release.
All I can really do is laugh.  Especially this:  For ATI cards 10.7.3 is needed (blame apple and ati for bad drivers)

Thanks for keeping on it and narrowing down the problem.  You've done more than I ever could, and I appreciate that.

Just in case anyone else is wondering, VMWare Windows 7 has the same problem as any of these Wineskin wrappers (for my hardware, anyway).  Although I'm officially blaming Apple and ATI as instructed...
