Please Note this wrapper Contains the game already in it . So installation / copy & paste of game files is NOT required : Just drag the app into you app folder.
Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness is a fantasy-themed real-time strategy (RTS) game published by Blizzard Entertainment and first released for DOS in 1995 and for Mac OS in 1996. The main game, Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness, earned enthusiastic reviews, won most of the major PC gaming awards in 1996, and sold over 2 million copies.[1]
Later in 1996 Blizzard released an expansion pack Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal for DOS and Mac OS, and a compilation Warcraft II: The Dark Saga for the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn. The Battle.net Edition, released in 1999, provided Blizzard's online gaming service, Battle.net, and replaced the MS-DOS version with a Windows one.
Players must collect resources, and produce buildings and units in order to defeat an opponent in combat on the ground, in the air and in some maps at sea. The more advanced combat units are produced at the same buildings as the basic units but also need the assistance of other buildings, or must be produced at buildings that have prerequisite buildings. The majority of the main screen shows the part of the territory on which the gamer is currently operating, and the minimap can select another location to appear in the larger display. The fog of war completely hides all territory which the gamer's has not explored, and shows only terrain but hides opponents' units and buildings if none of the gamer's units are present.
10.7 only
... stop complaining if you are on 10.6 . If you are on 10.6 or below just go into the package contents and take out the wow.app wrapper.
Installation:
copy app to applications folder

Also about the language ... sorry the version of the game in the wrapper is the north american english version .. so there is no option to change language
There is something terrible with the mouse scroll, once it hit the edge of the screen the game scrolls so fast that i move to the end of the map.
It makes the game unplayable
I've set lowest scroll sensitivity possible in game.
It makes the game unplayable

Doesn't happen on my mac

If your mouse is in the corner thats supposed to happen LOL
if you want to move don't put your mouse directly at the corner or just use the mini map to move around

Use minimap to scroll?
That's like playing a FPS and aim with keypad..

This is only a issue on smaller maps though

I think I know what the problem is. Dosbox is emulating too many cpu cycles for the game. I just checked it out and had the same problem and this is what fixed it. (1.) Right-Click on the Application you downloaded and show package contents. (2.) Go in Contents/Resources/Port. You will see another application called WOW. (3.) Right click on that application and go to Contents/Resources. (4.) You should see Dosbox.conf. Open up Dosbox.conf with Textedit and navigate down to the section labelled [cpu]. (5.) Right below the section explaining what the cpu settings are you will see the actual settings, which should be core=dynamic, cputype=auto, cycles=max, cycleup=0, cycledown=0. What you want to change is the "cycles" setting to something other than max. What worked for me was 10000, which I believe is emulating a pentium. If you set it too low, then the game will run slow, but try out a few different ones if 10000 does not work for you.
I already had a dosbox port of this game, but I downloaded this one because I was pretty sure that I knew what the problem was. Also, another thing that I did with hmtinc's port was to take the WOW application out of the first application, because the WOW application is already a fully functional dosbox wrapper (OSXDosbox Wrapper from doh123)... Thus, hmtinc's port has 4 layers (hmtinc's application layer, doh123's dosbox wrapper app, dosbox itself, and finally the game). The internal wrapper (WOW application, including full game and dosbox) can run on 10.6, in case anyone is interested. Also, I don't know if the movies were included in the dos version of Warcraft 2, but they don't seem to be here in this package.
Hmtinc, thank you for the port. Personally, I don't like the idea of an extra app layer, but it is somewhat interesting, and I guess some people might enjoy the extra splash screen you put in. Was there another reason that you used that method? I actually can't see the presentation of your app since I am on 10.6 so I don't know if I would like the presentation or not.
I can confirm the game is actually possible to play with cpu cycles set to 10000.
How anyone can play the game without it, I have no idea, because it is indeed not possible to play the game with unlimited cpu cycles here.
The "application inside an application inside an.." (Inception anyone) is a bit weird, me personally have removed the WOW.app
Anyways, why WOW? That's a different game?
