< The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an action role-playingopen worldvideo game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published byBethesda Softworks. It is the fifth installment in The Elder Scrolls action role-playing video game series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Skyrim was released on November 11, 2011 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Skyrim's main story revolves around the player character's efforts to defeat Alduin, a Dragon god who is prophesied to destroy the world. Set two hundred years after Oblivion, the game takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim, upon the continent of Tamriel, and the planet of Nirn. The open world gameplay of the Elder Scrolls series returns in Skyrim; the player can explore the land at will and ignore or postpone the main quest indefinitely. Skyrim was a critical and commercial success, receiving universal acclaim and shipping over 7 million copies to retailers within the first week of release. >
Personal Notes:
< This is a newer wineskin wrapper than the one that was first released with mouse and adio issues. The mouse issue has (hopefully) fully been resolved as i have used the "W2.5.4-W1.4-RawPatch-RawFix-NoXi2-RawWarpPatch" patched wine engine provided by thanoulas.
This wrapper fully supports the steam version of skyrim with In-game community enabled and can have mods installed via the steam skyrim mods section.
The advantage with the wineskin version is that video settings are fully customisable! If you have over 512mb VRAM, please go into wineskin.app, winetricks, settings and change it to the amount you have by running the specific graphics card setting. >
My System Specs:
- OS: < OS X 10.7.3 >
- CPU: < Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz >
- RAM: < 4GB (4-8GB recommended!) >
- Video: < nVidia GeForce 9400m 256mb (512mb is needed to play this game at reasonable FPS >
- Disk Space: < 7-10GB (size changes due to amounts of mods installed. >
Known Issues:
<The game may lag when roaming outside, depending on your graphics card. (512mb+ VRAM highly recommended), i play at low settings with no problems. >
Installation:
< With the steam version, double click the wrapper, sign into your steam account and download the game. If it keeps on installing the redists when starting the game, go into the skyrim steam folder (/program files/steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/) and remove, the 'Redist' folder from that folder.
If you are using the program files from a previous wrapper, show package contents and navigate to the program files folder. Drag the skyrim game folder from the old wrapper into this one. Then, go into wineskin.app and change the Windows EXE path to where the SkyrimLauncher.exe is located (e.g. /Program Files/Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim/SkryimLauncher.exe) and then run the game.
If you are installing the game from a legitimate disc (steam version), insert your disc into your mac, right click the wrapper, select wineskin.app and select 'Install new software'. Then locate the disc in the finder window and select 'Setup.exe', this will begin to install the game through steam.
If you are installing a cracked/illegal version, mount the disk/iso and follow the same procedure as installing the game with a legitimate disk. Remember, if you like the game then buy it!
This wrapper has not yet been tested on any other macs and i would expect some to experience some issues but i hope this turns out as an improvement than the previous Skyrim Wineskin wrapper i posted here. The game plays at 20-30fps in-doors on medium settings for me, where as outside on low settings i may get around 10-25fps. My mac does NOT meet the minimum requirements to play skyrim, thus it runs surprisingly OK-ish on my 2009 white macbook. (I'd expect it to run much better on newer macs with ATI/nVidia graphics cards that have larger amounts of vram.
Please post feedback so i can update the status of the wrapper!
Thanks!

DAN YOU GOT YOUR MAC BACK?
The cider port still runs faster.. But i guess this is good if you own the game on steam. You can get updates

Upload your fear 3 and gears of war wrapper please!
Glad to see you back Dan! Nice work again!
The engine you are using is a great engine, but with games that doesn't need raw you shouldn't use a raw patch (it does make the mouse handling slightly worse)
Also the thanoulas hack does only warp mouse horizontal (which would limit the amount you can se up and down in skyrim).
If you wanna do it perfectly, use the warp patch mr_lundis wrote: http://portingteam.c...input-patch-v2/
This patch does warp mouse both vertically and horisontally.
and patch the engine with a without-xinput2 flag.
Just a tip! If mouse handling already is perfect there is no need, but my experience is that the rawpatch is making mouse movement slightly worse.
(I've already runned skyrim, so I'm not gonna test it
)

Sorry, but it bugs me a lot... You didn't choose the Skyrim logo for the main picture.... Please fix it.

Is this the original wine wrapper that once graced my mac? I'm just setting up now so will get back to you on its performance. Personally I found that the wine wrapper worked much better on my system though it was one developed by Paul the Tall.
