The sequel to the blockbuster online multiplayer war franchise, EA and developer Digital Illusions are taking the battle to another realm with a modern-war era edition. Players from the United States, China and the Middle East Coalition (all armed with realistic armarments and vehicles) will all be represented in harrowing battles for a massive number of online players (more than any of the previous Battlefield titles). The new game engine offers vastly improved visuals, physics and sound, plus a dynamic stage limiting system that scales the size of the online battlefield according to how many players are logged on.
Personal Notes:
Excellent performance on my system. No graphical glitches.
60+ fps on highest settings with x4 Anti-Aliasing.
THIS PORT RUNS FASTER THAN THE CIDER VERSION!
Works great with both the full version (complete collection) and the demo version! Single player works as it should on both versions.
Demo version download: http://www.gamefront...tlefield_2_Demo
---------------
If you use the steam version of the game, replace the original "BF2.exe" with the one in the link below to be able to launch the game without the Steam client. This will improve stability and performance overall. This is by no means a fix for those that want to obtain the game illegally! You need a LEGAL copy of the game!
No steam exe: http://www.mediafire...tx9a451gohe8dct

Want to play with more than 16 bots in single player? Click on the link below to find out how:

(works with the demo version too)

Installing mods:
(You need the full version of the game in order to install mods)
NOTICE: Before installing mods, a fresh installation of Battlefield 2 needs to be done in your wrapper. Do not use a separate wrapper to install Battlefield 2 if you plan on installing mods as the installer for mods/patches will not recognize the registry files for the game otherwise. (Since they aren't created if you simply move the game files from a separate wrapper or from windows)
If you can't install the game in your wrapper, I have provided a set of registry files that you can use so that patches and mod installers will think you installed a certain version of the game. I didn't include registries in the wrapper itself as some patches and mod installers require a certain version of Battlefield 2. Therefore, it makes sense to let you guys decide what you need. Version 1.4, 1.41, and 1.5 registries with instructions are included in the download:

This game has been tested on AMD/ATI and Intel HD cards. NVIDIA cards will likely work well. Intel GMA cards might work on low settings. Why not try the demo? If it works well, buy the full version.
Windows Minimum Requirements:
MAC OS X 10.6 OR HIGHER IS REQUIRED!
My System Specs:
- OS: Mac OS X 10.7.4 (Lion)
- CPU: Quad Core 2.2 GHz i7
- RAM: 8 GB
- Video: AMD Radeon HD 6750m with 512 MB of vRAM
- Disk Space: 4.5 GB for full version, 800 MB for demo version
Known Issues:
-Controls can't be changed in-game. The controls configuration file for Battlefield 2 is kept in your main documents folder. Locate the "Controls.con" file. You can change the values in that file.
An alternate configuration file is available via this link: http://www.mediafire...ua78jfz953ru3b4
The alternate configuration changes the primary fire (trigger) and Alt fire (ADS, aka aim down the sights) with "Z" and "X" respectively. This makes it more comfortable for macbook users.
Simply replace the original "Controls.con" file with the one provided in the link. Make sure you launch the game once before doing so as the game needs to create the profiles.
-Online seems to work but is quite finicky and crashes often. When you create an account, if it seems to hang or gives you an error, chances are that it worked anyway. Proceed to logging in and it should work. Turn off punkbuster right away, as not doing so will crash the game upon connecting to a sever. However, even with attempting to connect to a non-punkbuster server, the game crashes for me. I still haven't been able to connect to a server yet.* (not many punkbusterless servers around anyway) For the best experience, play singleplayer. I can tell you from my experience that the game is much more stable offline.
*People have reported being able to play online, so you may have better luck than me
also the mods I'm using are probably contributing to the problems I'm having
Installation:
Step 1: acquire the game (rather through the disc version or download via steam)
Step 2: install the game (using a separate wrapper is recommended)
Step 3: move the main game folder titled "EA GAMES" or just "Battlefield 2" (depending on the version you have) to your desktop
Step 4: open the EA GAMES folder and replace the BF2.exe with a cracked version if needed
Step 5: navigate to c_drive/program files/ (inside the wrapper) and insert the EA GAMES folder
Step 6: make sure the path to the BF2.exe is correct
Step 7: launch the game and enjoy
Version 1.5 of the game is recommended as it supports widescreen play. (Although for single player, version 1.41 has a better AI commander) The steam version uses 1.5 and cannot be downgraded to 1.41. Use the disc version of the game for the most options as it can be upgraded to either 1.41 or 1.5 if you so choose.

What's New in Version 1.1 (See full changelog)
- -updated wrapper
- -cleaned resources, kept only what was needed
- -fixed registry file directories for easier mod installation*
- -new icon
- *if the game is installed in the wrapper itself which is only recommended if you plan to install mods as well.

im so close to getting the online part working ill check back with my progress
Since I cant change controls in game, can someone upload a controls.con file that allows me to control aircrafts with my keyboard? I don't know how to set it up so that I can use something other than my mouse. (flying a jet is not easy with a mouse...
)
I just need the mouse controls to become my arrow keys while in aircrafts.
Thanks.

if you download Xcode from the mac app store (for free) and edit the controls.con file with it, that should be easier for you... its still difficult to edit however, if you do edit it, make sure you lock the file as the game will try to change bindings back
Ok sounds good.
I just installed it so I didn't really have time to get used to the mouse. Im used to flying battlefield 1942 like that so thats why I asked lol...
But thank you for the tips
! Ill try to get better with the mouse.
also... I was having an issue with the single player menu screen turning white... I can still see buttons, but the background is white making it almost impossible to select maps prior to playing.
any ideas? Heard of this happening?
i bought the game from amazon as a digital download.

no prob.
i have 20+ hours clocked in myself using the steam version with the very same wrapper I've provided to you and have not encountered that problem... the BF2.exe is notoriously finicky... so there may be something in your directory it doesn't like... which version of the game are you using?
I currently have version 1.5. The game works great with the usual black ground flickering but all runs well including mods. Its just that menu that makes it hard to set up a game.
p.s. I messed around with the controls.con file and I got the controls to the way I wanted lol... I just enjoy it like that lol. And also thank for all your work on this wrapper. REALLY glad I was able to find this.
