Far Cry 2 is a sequel to the original Far Cry. The game features an open-ended experience. Players are able to ally with one or multiple factions, and to progress through the game world and missions as they see fit, resulting in a nonlinear style of gameplay commonly referred to as sandbox mode that allows the story to progress at their speed and in the order they choose. Players can use a range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, boats and hang gliders, to travel within the 50 km2 (19 sq mi) gameplay area. The playing styles range from head-on assaults to stealthy infiltrations and assassinations. The game takes place in a sprawling African landscape, with terrain ranging from desert to savannah to jungle.
Various factions and vehicles are featured; enemies include human mercenaries, but sci-fi creatures such as the Trigens from Far Cry are not featured.[9]Furthermore, the player's feral abilities introduced in Far Cry Instincts and its expansions do not return in Far Cry 2. There is also a dynamic weather system that has a day-night cycle and different weather conditions such as storms and strong winds. The time of day also affects the behavior of AI, in terms of enemy alertness and aggressiveness; for example, an enemy might have a slightly heightened awareness at night, but be unable to see the player in hiding, while during the hot part of the day the enemies might be sitting in the shade in groups but easily spot the player from a distance.
The health bar represents the health of the protagonist that is divided into five segments, each of which automatically refills if it is not depleted and the player finds cover for a few seconds. Players carry a limited supply of syrettes which can be used at any time to fully replenish the health bar, and are obtainable from first aid boxes located throughout the game world, specifically at guard posts. When nearing death (only one health bar remaining), the character must perform first aid on himself, for example removing bullets with pliers, or snapping twisted or broken fingers into position.

Known Issues:
no known issues till now, rarely crashes (freeze screen), i had a mouse problem but it got fixed because i changed the engine to noxinput 2
please report any issues i dont know of :)

Installation:
place your far cry 2 folder cdrive/program files/
to go there just right click (cmd+click) and show contents where you will find c drive
if your using a cd or installing the game just go to the wrapper show contents where you will find an app called wineskin, open it and click install software and then choose executable file.
another way of copying the file is to open the wineskin app in the wrapper (show contents) and press install software and from there you can pick if you want to copy the folder or move it.
if you are using a cracked copy (which i don't support) follow the steps and when you are done copy the crack to c drive/ program files/gamefolder/bin
you will have to do that manually.
and thats it :) if it didnt work just contact me through here or my email or just submit a comment explaining your problem.

No you don't have to, as hmtinc said the searching tool doesn't work properly
download speed from rapidshare is too slow for me so i cant download the wrapper. Can you upload to mediafire instead?

Since that was your first port, i dont know if you checked WineHQ to see if it would actually work. If you're going to be doing more ports in the future, i would highly recommend that you check WineHQ's 'AppDB' to see if the game you plan on porting actually works at all in wineskin.
Heres an example, if i where to google 'Crysis 2 WineHQ' and click on the first link, i'd get to this page

Its a pain in the @ss if you download a large PC game, try to port it and it turns out it wont work in wineskin at all, i know this through many many games not working for me hahaha
If you all ready knew about WineHQs AppDB then just ignore this comment :P
this isn't necessarily ideal as most of the test results on winehq are done by linux users, which often won't represent how the game will actually play in mac os x. for instance, the crysis 2 test results on winehq don't say anything about major graphical glitches with every engine or epic lag with the 1.5 engines, as these are problems only associated with mac os x...

you don't have to use the websites search engine... just google the game your interested in "farcry 2" and then add "porting team" to the end of it, search, and you should find all the entries uploaded to the database...
btw faisal, you should add the wineskin engine number to the wineskin version area this way we know what engine your using... "1.4NoXInput2" for instance

I would say it is 100% ideal. Wine on Mac OSX and Ubuntu sure do have their differences (UI Wise) but just because linux users are most likely to have different hardware or operating system doesn't mean you have to completely disregard their submissions and posts. There are Mac WineHQ users that post results too, you know.

It doesn't matter what performance you get compared to linux users as every system has different hardware causing the game to run differently. However, what does matter is knowing the fact that the game will run in wine at all. Its 100% necessary to check WineHQ for each game because you then know that the game either does or doesn't run in wine. Also, you could check winehq that would take roughly 5mins to read through the posts OR you could spend hours on end trying to figure out why your port isn't working or why the performance is so low.

My point was that you should always check the results of the game on winehq to see if the game is able to run in wine at all, excluding the performance of the game running in wine or what hardware the linux users are using.
sure its useful to go by winehq, but if the test data doesn't say it was done in mac os x, don't be surprised to run into some issues of your own... i'll stick to my guns and say it ain't ideal, but useful

and my point was that you shouldn't take winehq as "the lord's word"

no one seems to be having any luck with ARMA II so far in wine:
http://appdb.winehq....ation&iId=10054

apparently the game has very bad graphical corruption, even if you get it working.
any way to use the map editor? it doesn't seem to be working when i set it to the default exe for the wrapper, just opens and closes.
