Yoot Tower (known in Japan as The Tower II) is a 1998 construction and management simulation computer game.

Using the provided starting funds, players must begin to build a tower from scratch. As in SimTower, offices and food courts can be built to generate income, as well as condos that can be sold to families. There are plenty of new facilities that can be placed such as rented apartments, vending machines and public restrooms for food court patrons. There are also many changes to existing items that featured in the original game, i.e. a notable difference between the shop item in Yoot Tower and the one originally in SimTower is that it no longer functions as a rented space where the player has no control over what the shop sells; rather the player is provided with different types of shop from the start from which the income they make is part of the player's earnings. Another interesting addition is the ability for players to build two or more towers next to each other and join them with sky bridges. Other income sources also exist, such as placing billboards outside and renting them out as advertisement space.
Also new to this game is the ability to choose where the building is built. What the player can do in these locations varies, such as how many stories high the building can be, what the player is actually allowed to build, and how much money the player starts off with. The variation gives each location its own difficulty level compared to the others.

I'm sorry, but Yoot doesn't work for me.  I did what you instructed, but I fear it's not enough to go on.  I don't know what to do after I move the files to the YOOTTOWER folder in drive_c, because if I try to run the setup, it immediately crashes, and if I say run w/ start.exe in the advanced settings, it only shows a terminal window.  Can you please help?

There should be no setup popping up at all if the files have been correctly put into the drive_c/YOOTTOWER folder. For example: The location of the program has to be "drive_c/YOOTTOWER/TS2.exe". This goes for all the game files. If thats not the case it won't work. Just double check the paths.
Where is the "drive_c" on the mac?  The file that downloads opens to a wineskin application.

sorry, still confused with "Then move pre-installed game files to "drive_c/YOOTTOWER/"". is it means I need to have the windows file of the game first?

Yes.
You're not very clear. Where are the pre-installed game files?
I understand the drive C folder, I've made a folder within it... Now what?

It's very clear to understand that you will only get wrappers here, not the games itself since this is against the law.

So you need to get the game yourself, unzip it and move the game files to the named folder. Or use the Wineskin option to install a PC software if you only have a setup.exe but remember to use the mentioned location.
Hi Anarath, thank you very much for the Wrapper.  However, I did as instructed, clicked "show package contents" on the wrapper, and made a folder called "YOOTTOWER" in drive_c.  However, when I launch the game, I see the screen that says "Presented by OpenBook9003" then a screen that says "YOOT TOWER" the it crashes out.  I am on an iMac 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, running OSX 10.9.4.  Any idea what might be happening?  And what could be done to fix it?  Thanks again!

Uh, good question. I just started it up to see if the wrapper is maybe outdated or incompatible to Mavericks but everything was fine for me. Also downloading the wrapper here and putting in the game files worked well.

You could open up the wrapper by right click it and click "show package content", then double click the "Wineskin" app, navigate to "Advanced" and hit "Test Run". The game will start and on end (crashing or quitting) show a protocol. Post it here so I can see if I can identify a specific problem.
Hi again Anarath, thank you for your quick response.  I have the protocol obtained from the Test Run.  However I miss-described the problem: it didn't CRASH out after the second screen saying YOOT TOWER, the app remains open but the game window simply disappears and there is nothing to do except quit the app.  When I do quit this is the log I get:

That might sound like a stupid question, but what peripherals do you have attached? Any Razer stuff? Some people stating that the Razer Synapse Drivers tend to be problematic with Wine wrappers and giving exactly that error message. Why they do seems unclear and deinstalling doesn't always help though.

Also in any case try this: Show package content -> open up Winskin -> Advanced -> Tools -> Winetricks -> Search for "directsound" -> in "dlls" should only be "dsound" -> click the check box in front of "dsound" -> press "run" -> when finished ("Winetricks Commands Finished!!") close the window and quit Wineskin -> start Yoot Tower. Maybe that helps, maybe not. Let me know.
Oh no!  I do have Razer Synapse 2.0 installed!  I did the Winetricks as instructed, and there is no change at all in the symptoms.  I still get to the second screen that says YOOT TOWER then the window closes, and I have to quit the app.  Thanks for your continued support!

Someone posted this in a forum I found:

"I just found the better solution on any wine release and Razer Synapse 2.0, you just need to remove HAL audio plugin wich is hooks audio settings control pagel functions.
Remove /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/RazerAudio.plugin and reboot. Synapse still work as well with all media buttons assigned, but no more issues with wine."

Maybe u want to try that. But keep a copy of that plugin somewhere else just in case.
