Screenshots
Torchlight II is an action role-playing game developed by Runic Games, released on September 20, 2012. It is the sequel to Runic's 2009 ARPG, Torchlight, and features peer-to-peer multiplayer support and extended modding capabilities. A release for Mac OS is planned to be released months after the Windows release.(and that's why this port exists!)

Personal Notes:
When I heard there was a sequel to Torchlight, I was ecstatic. I bought the first when Mac Steam had just came out (as it was one of the only Mac games available) expecting a less-than-stellar indie RPG (but because it was on there I had to have it :P) but instead got something that was a serious competitor to Diablo, perhaps even better.

Enjoy! :)
My System Specs:
- OS: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4
- CPU: 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
- RAM: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
- Video: AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB, also Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
- Disk Space: 1.9 GB w/o mods

Known Issues:
Shadows don't work in Act I, they make everything black, just turn them off (and in the later stages you can turn them back on if you want... but why would you? It lowers the FPS)
Turn off bloom for a good FPS/performance increase.

Installation:
If you have it on Steam, open the app (Steam is pre-installed and ready), sign in, and download the game. Steam should do the grunt work for you.
Before playing, go to Steam; Settings at the top, then click In-Game. Then uncheck 'Enable Steam Community In-Game."

If you are using another version: (for example the one off of Runic Games website)

1. Right click the .app -> Show Package Contents then open the Wineskin app.
2. Click 'Install Windows Software'.
3. Select the .exe for installing
4. Let it install.
5. Once it's finished, go to "Advanced" in Wineskin and set the executable (click Browse!)
Most versions (Runic Games, RELOADED) have the executable as /Program Files/Torchlight II/Torchlight2.exe (you can just copy and paste that into the field)

A FIX FOR THE MOUSE ERROR:
go in wineskin
screen options
set the Virtual Desktop to YOUR CURRENT RESOLUTION
then go into winecfg (advanced, second tab)
then select mouse, virtual desktop, and put in your resolution again.
change wine to use XQuartz instead of WineskinX11

there you go
(if you don't understand this just play fullscreen, you'll mess up the wrapper somehow)

A FIX FOR THE ASCII/UNICODE ERROR:
it's a problem with your installing, but can be fixed like this:

Go into Documents/My Games/Runic Games/
open the torchlight 2 folder
delete everything but the saves folder

What's New in Version 1.0 (another fix) (See full changelog)

  • Added fix for mouse issue in window, and ASCII/unicode error, please see OP.

Finally! Awesome. Gonna try it out right now.
nice job, i'll probably just wait for the official mac port though
I can install but gives me an error about the save files every time I open. I had this problem before when I tried to make myself a port with wineskin but I don't know why that happens.
Can you describe the error in more detail, please? What are your system specs? Where did you get the game?

I have a 13inch macbook pro from early 2011:
2.3 i5 Dual core CPU
Intel HD 3000
4Gb Ram

What happens is that every time I open this message comes up saying:
"Unable to determine file type (Best Guess ASCII ). You need to save file as unicode - recommend doing it in word pad."
And it appears in the title of the error message C:/users/User/My Documents/ My Games/ Runic Games but the rest doesn't appear.
I'm using the Reloaded version to try it out first.
It's probably not about save file, it's just a guess.

Ah, I see.
The problem with the reloaded version is that the cracked .exe is named 'torchlight2.exe', not 'Torchlight2.exe', which messes up the game's systems. What I recommend is dragging the cracked .exe to your desktop, renaming it, and THEN dragging it in. (you did apply the crack, right? xD)
what fps are you currently having? is the gameplay smooth even for extended (5-8) hours of play?
thx for this
Running this on a macbook pro late 2010 without any issues accept for the shadow problem
Thanks for the port.

P.S. Game rune fine on mine 2010 macbook pro.

I applied yes. xD I did what you said but it's giving me the same error. It was more than a minute open until the error message appeared.

Edit:Something very weird happen.
I tried to erase the folder runic games because it's generated automatically. I did that when I tried to make a port but gave me the same error. So I erased and when I opened the app it just closed and my computer started blowing it's fans. When I went to see why on the activity monitor app there were several wine processes open even when the app wasn't open.
This is happening every time I open the app. I'll try to reinstall.
I reinstalled, did what you told me and it's working. Going to play it right now. Thanks for the port and all the help.
Just played a little and works fine on my HD3000. Now I'm gonna finish Torchlight 1 before going on to T2.
It works... to a degree. Game installed fine, I'm able to run it on pretty decent speed, but not for extended periods of times, usually the game freezes on me after about 40 minutes of playing. But overall, it works great and runs well on my 2008 macbook. :)
Good job!

i'm not experiencing this...
what are your system specs?
My Specs:
10.6.8
2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB Ram
and NVidia 9400M 256MB

It could be that my computer has not enough power to run it for extended periods of time...
It works flawlessly after adjusting things inside.

My Specs:
10.8.2
2.66 GHz Intel Core i7
4GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce GT 330M 512MB

For saving or copying save files from window, somehow it detects my save from my bootcamp window side. So I'm not sure how to go about to copying the save folder. Is there a way to locate it?
