Game Description:
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is an interactive fiction video game based on the comedic science fiction series of the same name. It was designed by series creator Douglas Adams and Infocom's Steve Meretzky, and was first released in 1984 for the Apple II, Macintosh, Commodore 64, DOS, Amiga, Atari 8-bit and Atari ST. It is Infocom's fourteenth game.

Personal Notes:
An old classic. I was fooling around trying to get dosbox games to work with my Dreamcast (which I was able to do) and I wanted to play this again. I am quite sure most people on this site are too young to care about Text Adventures - but there are some that will enjoy it.

Plot:
The game loosely mirrors a portion of the series' plot, beginning with the impending destruction of Arthur Dent's house and subsequent demolition of the Earth by Vogons. After being rescued from open space by the Heart of Gold and figuring out how to activate the Infinite Improbability Drive, the player is hurled through space and time.....

I would love to see a recent development of this book series, all 5 in one game would be awesome!

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
The Restaurant at the end of the Universe
Life the Universe and Everything
So Long and Thanks for All the Fish
Mostly Harmless

...and it would seem that five years ago someone was commissioned to write the sixth installment titled And Another Thing...

It would be great if someone picked up the series and made a newer game out of it.

The series is pretty funny, and there is a lot of good material to work with.

As long as they never made some generic fps or something I would be happy :)

I had quite a lot of fun playing this game again.
I loved the first Hitchhiker game. More - of that quality - would indeed be great!
A classic, thanks a lot!
I signed up to your site. Then downloaded "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" .zip file and unpacked it. Then launched the app and got an alert "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.app can not be opened because it is from an unidentified developer."

Please advise me as what I need to do?

Thanks
Mike

DUHOOOO !!!!

System Preferences: Security: Allow apps form "Anywhere"
