Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition is a re-released and enhanced version of Ori and the Blind Forest. Initially revealed by Moon Studios during Gamescom 2015, the game was set to be released during the holiday period of 2015 until the studio decided to delay it into the next year. It was then set to be released on March 11th 2016 for Xbox One, while the Windows 10 and Steam versions had been delayed to April 27th 2016.

The Definitive Edition features all the same areas and story as the original Ori and the Blind Forest but with some unique additions.

Personal Notes:

360 and xboxOne controllers need their latest driver for mac: Link...
xbox360 controllers are already configurated for image/Dvd installation, while steam users need to open the controller folder included in the .dmg and read the file "Read me.rtf"

If your game doesn't start or you have a blank screen, It could  depend by the GLSL shaders that are disabled by default... I use this feature disabled because, into my hardware ,if I enable it, the game take too much time to be loaded (2.30 minutes); while If I use GLSL disabled the game is loaded in 55 seconds...

So you can enable it through winetricks and you can see what happens by yourself:

Wineskin.app   /advanced/tools/Winetricks/Settings GLSL=enabled

If your GPU is not correctly recognized by the wrapper (this It often happens  with Iris and others intel cards and wine)
you can try to solve it using this method:

open wineskin within the wrapper (right click/show package contents) and then disable inside "Set Screen Options" the flag for the auto detect GPU's feature... Then go on advanced/tool/winetricks/Settings and set your videomemorysize=1024; It could help you

If you have a low specs hardware, and you have some speed issue to run fluently the game, you can try to open Wineskin.app within the wrapper, select "Set Screen Options" and uncheck the flag from "Use Direct3D Boost (If available)".

My System Specs:

- OS:  Mac OS X 10.10.5
- CPU:  Core 2 Duo 2,53GHz
- RAM:  6 GB
- Video: nVidia 9800m GTS
- Disk Space:  11,9 GB

Known Issues:

The wrapper could not work with macOS High Sierra...
In this case read carefully this thread: http://portingteam.c...os-high-sierra/

Installation:

Steam Users: http://store.steampo...com/app/387290/

After Steam has completed loading sign in and download the game

Posted Image

If you want to use an Xinput gamepad as 360/xboxONE controller open the 360/One controller folder that you find in the .dmg and read the "Read Me.rtf" file

DVD/disk's Image users:

thanks man !!
@frozenheart

You're welcome ;)
So, Steam for Windows crashed. How do I restart it? Where is the file?
@xylophone

try to read the installation istructions again... the path of the steam.exe is written there...I also posted  an image to show how configure the wrapper for steam...

If the crash persists and doesn't permit to install the game, try through Winetricks to re-enable GLSL:

GLSL=enabled

It should solve the windebug crash with steam, but, as writed in first page, It could make very slow the start and loading of the game ...

In that case once you installed the game you can disable again the GLSL through Winetricks
@NRG

I got it to install. I just have problems with relaunching Steam Windows. I don't know how to do that. And now I can't launch ORI DE.app, even though there are no ORI DE/Wineskin/Winetricks processes running, according to Activity Monitor. I just couldn't figure out how to run it without pressing "Test Run," and now I can't even get the app to launch. But I can't go back to my craptop.
Edit: I tried going into the app and directly launching Wineskin, but I get this message:

ERROR!

ERROR, tried to run command debug when the
wrapper was already running. Please make sure the
wrapper is not running in order to do this.

Edit Edit: I fixed the problem by "Kill Wineskin Processes." I still don't know how to launch it without using test run.

Open Wineskin.app within the wrapper, go to advanced and select  the configuration tab...

Set the path for "Windows EXE" as in figure:

In this way every time you will launch the wrapper it will start Steam...

However it's was written in the installation istructions:

After Steam has completed loading sign in and download the game
Launch the game using Steam, configurating wineskin path to:
drive_c/Program Files/Steam/Steam.exe

Yes, one of the best games of the latest 20 years...
When i run this game on my Mac, I feel like a real genius.
So i'm trying the non-steam version and i'm having trouble opening the wrapper (or the wineskin inside the wrapper)

I tried them all, opening the wineskin inside first or opening the app first and none work. I even restarted and reinstalled wineskin winery and still nothing.
The error it gives me is The application "wineskin" cannot be opened. Which is weird considering it worked up until 3 months ago (with other games).

Can anyone help me somehow? I'm using OS Yosemite 10.10.5

to install the game  You have to launch the wrapper (Ori DE.app) from your desktop... if doesn't start, the file probably was corrupted by downloading; in that case use firefox and change yours DNS with OpenDNS, to download it again without issues from mega link of the thread

PS: wineskin winery, installed in your osx,  isn't linked to the wineskin contained inside the wrapper
Ok firefox made the trick. I installed the game but i encountered another problem.
I get a pink screen at the start and after the pink screen it's all black. I can see the mouse pointer and i can hear the menu sounds and clicks but i can't see anything.
