Battleships Forever
Version 0.90d

STATUS: Yellow
Sound effects do not work, only music, this is impossible to fix due to GameMaker flaws, without the maker fixing the game itself.
Ship creator is inside the wrapper too, it works ok
set to run in a window, runs best like that.  You can set Wineskin fullscreen and get fullscreen, but leave the game set to run in a window.

Battleships Forever is a freeware tactical Real Time Strategy game that put's you in command of a small fleet of warships in space. Combat and damage mechanics are extremely detailed. Everything is simulated in game if possible. There are no abitrary "to hit chance" values in Battleships Forever. The game also features many innovative mechanics that you've never seen before. For example, the Cronus Battleship sports a Flux Shield generator that allows you to draw a defensive force shield around your ships in any shape you want. Another example are the Deflector modules that are used extensively through the game. These modules make a single section of a ship totally invulnerable to fire. This means that you will have to manoeuvre your ships to attack sections of the enemy ships not protected by Deflectors while keeping your own protected sections facing the enemy. Position is paramount!

Players will command picked fleets made up of Battleships, Destroyers and Patrol Craft. The completed game will include ten campaign missions and multiple skirmish modes.

Battleships Forever is inspired by and loosely based on Warning Forever by Hikoza.T.Ohkubo

System requirements:
- Intel Mac running OSX 10.4 - 10.6

its pretty fun though I haven't played it in awhile....

as long as you don't try to use its windowed mode it plays... that makes the ship builder impossible to use since it only has a window mode.... thats not a super big deal, the nice thing to fix would be working sound.

If you want to try to make a better wrapper, by all means go for it... I haven't updated this in awhile, a newer version of Wine might do it on its own.

I have a few ports including this one that I need to update... waiting til I can get Wineskin 1.1 done.
Please let the porting to us (porters) you are too valuable as Coder, unless of course you see porting as relaxing ;) if you have port sugesstions you want to see ported let me know, this way save you precious time. Keep up the good work! and thanks again for all you do. I will look into Battleships forever tonight.

thanks... I only port games I want to play  :-)

I don't really take requests, I leave that up to you guys who do the porting all the time... plus I'm not as big of a game player as most others here.
thats ok, if you need any help or need testing or anything, let me know.
Here you are. As promised: Full screen and Green

thats I'll check it out.. did you get windowed mode working for the ship builder though?
well its better.. but I still wouldnt call this green...

sound still doesn't work  (music works, just not sound effects)... I don't think missing sound effects should ever be called green.

window mode is working ok now it seems, which is nice... can run in rootless normal windows with the game set to windowed.
I made a custom EXE for the ship builder and it actually works now!

this is still a ton better... but really need to find  fix for the sound effects.
Mmmm....thought this was green, yeah sorry, never play this game so i thought everything worked and this supoosed to be this way.....anyway good to hear it is at least better ;)
I already deleleted this game so you can try the following things:
- Install mediaplayer 10 (not winetricks)
- install codecpack (not winetricks)
- install realplayer (not winetricks)

anyway speak to ya later.
Hey, thanks for the instant flashback! I played this game quite a bit a couple of years ago, but pretty much forgot about it since I ditched my last Windows machine. Can't wait to give this a try.
Looks like the link's not working. If anyone could provide a working one that would be great :D
The loading screen came out, but nothing happens and finally "not responding"
