Mac gaming, is native always better?

Mac gaming, is native always better?

These days there are popping up more and more mac games. These games are usually put into two categories, native and wrapped games.
The wrapped games are usually using Cider and more recently also wine (with doh123's Wineskin). These wrapped ports are often much like the ones made on the Porting Team, or nearly identical, like the recently released The Witcher on steam which was available (wrapper only, you still needed to buy the PC game) on Porting Team already in 2010.

Dungeon Defenders

Official Mac Game Release:
Dungeon Defenders

The exemplary downloadable offering Dungeon Defenders is a perfect hybrid of multiplayer, action-RPG, and tower defense. It's available on Steam for $14.99. It's also available on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, the App Store, and the Android Market.
According to Trendy Entertainment, the game "puts players in the role of one of four distinctive hero classes, tasked with fending off hordes of invading beasties by strategically summoning a variety of Defenses & Traps throughout their castle. But as much more than just a strategy game, players directly participate in the action-packed combat with their hero characters, while upgrading their statistics, gathering tons of loot and inventory items, customizing & upgrading equipment, and developing unique class abilities. All of this can be enjoyed in seamless online and split-screen local multiplayer, as players cooperate and compete through the story campaign and challenge missions to build the strongest heroes and achieve the highest scores in the kingdom."

The Darkness II

Official Mac Game Release:
The Darkness II

Seems like the year-long wait mac users always had for high grade Games on OSX is now gradually shortening. (Mostly thanks to Cider or Wine, *cough* )
The Darkness II is a first person shooter video game developed by Digital Extremes and published by 2K. The game is a sequel to the 2007 Title "The Darkness", which release date fell quite in the dark (no pun intended) by some heavy games released that month, coupled with 360/PS3-only availability. The Darkness II release date was pushed back a little to avoid the same mistake again for the (now different) developer. TransGaming, masters of Cider, ported the game to Mac OS X and the Port is now available on the Mac App Store (currently on sale for $29.99 / €22.80, full price $49.99) and on Steam. ($49.99)
