Portingteam Offical IRC Channel

The PortingTeam has had an IRC channel for quite sometime. If you would like help the IRC channel is the place to ask. Most questions in the /shout box can go unanswered because they can be missed, and some people do not follow the /shout box.

Join the IRC channel for chat.

Also if you need help most mods or admins can be found there. Though of course we are not always there 24 / 7 - so ask a question and it will be answered when we get back.

You do not ask to ask a question, just ask

Idlers are also welcome.

So how do I join the chatroom?

Mac OS X:

1. Download you favourite IRC client.  I recommend Colloquy - which can be found here for free - http://colloquy.info/

2. Open the Colloquy app.

3. Click New

4. Choose a nickname

5. Server Protocol - should be left to IRC - Internet Relay Chat

6. Chat server - type in irc.p2p-network.net

7. Click Connect

8. Now go to join room - where it says chatroom enter #Portingteam


* Note if you would like (and it is reccomended) - you can register your nickname by doing the following:

/msg nickserv register <password> <email>
- Where <password> is replaced with whatever you want your password to be and <email> is replaced with your email you are register your nickname with.


You can also join on your iOS device - iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch

iOS:

1. Download you favourite IRC client.  I recommend Colloquy (though personally the latest version 1.3.5 has issues so I use the older version)- which can be found here for 1.99 - https://itunes.apple...d302000478?mt=8

2. On the Connections tab click the the plus in the upper left corner

3. Click IRC Connection

4. In the address tab type irc.p2p-network.net

5. Enter your nickname

6. Click join room

7. Add chat room and type in #Portingteam

8. Click done

9. Click Connect
