This series is loosely based on a movie and set of novels from the late 70's. The story has become wildly popular world wide due to the this rendition of the story line, the video games. For those that have played the series know what the draw of the game really is all about. The game is a first person RPG set in the nuclear aftermath of atomic proportions. Without getting into too much detail I can assure you that the game has gained a reputation for a reason. The games have an authentic feel to them not found in any other game I've come across. The haunting environment and terrifying creatures lend the living breathing atmosphere that makes up the Zone and it's surrounding areas. Tread carefully as you complete main missions and hundred of side jobs throughout the entire series

These games are not new to the Mac platform, in fact it was originally ported about three years ago. The software development over the last three years has increased exponentially and better support for games has been implemented into wine.

One of the biggest draws of these games is the physical environment, and open ended world…The windows version has enjoyed the full use of all four lighting schemes, the low static lighting, and the three top tier dynamic lighting schemes. Unfortunately Wine lacked the ability to make the dynamic lighting schemes work….UNTIL NOW

FULL DYNAMIC LIGHTING in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series is now implemented. I have only updated the Clear Sky wrapper for now but the other two will be updated very soon…This post will be edited to include the other two in due time.

If you would like to implement this into your currently installed games you can visit the Wine HQ App DB and search for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game you are playing. You will be required to know how to edit the registry file located in the resources folder of the wrapper.

But for now here is:
