Screenshots
Icewind Dale II is a computer role-playing game developed by Black Isle Studios and published by Interplay Entertainment. It is set in the Forgotten Realms fantasy setting in the Icewind Dale region, and is the sequel to Icewind Dale. The player assumes control of a group of mercenaries in a war between the Ten Towns of Icewind Dale and an army of persecuted races and religious factions.
The game is designed as an action-oriented alternative to other Infinity Engine games, with less emphasis on exploration and story. It uses a real-time adaptation of the Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) Third Edition ruleset. The Infinity Engine was extensively modified to comply with the Third Edition, and forced the removal of certain rules. It was the final game to be developed using the Infinity Engine.

This is a CXSkin wrapper so it should work flawlessly on any Intel Mac with OSX 10.4-10.6

Please note that this wrapper will work best with the gamefiles from the old Chromium port which can be found in the full games section of the forum.

To install the gamesfiles, right-click on the application package and select "Show Package Contents" from the menu.
Then follow the red-marked folders until you see the gamefolder - place the PC gamefiles inside this folder and you are good to go.

Notes:
Vids are working. Widescreen resolutions are not supported. Multiplayer has not been tested but is likely to work.

Resolution is set to 800x600. To change the game's resolution, right-click on the app and open Contents/info.plist with TextEdit. Under "CXOMECmdLine", change "/iwd2/iwd2.exe" to "iwd2/config.exe" and relaunch the game. This should open the game's configuration program. To set the .app launch the game instead of the configurator, simply reverse the change.

Known Issues:
None as of yet!

Please note that this game has not been tested on Macs with GMA 950 chips, but it is likely to work.

Enjoy!

Hmm.
I keep getting a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error whenever I try to start a new game
are you using my gamefiles from the full port?

try launching WineTricks and install vcrun2005.
I updated the wrapper - try downloading it again.
I'm getting a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error as well. Oh well, thanks anyway Doc but I'll just stick to running it on Crossover.
try installing vcrun2005 via Winetricks

also did you download the latest wrapper? you should not give up that easily ;)

I wonder why I don't have any errors then...
Download link does not work for some reason :(

"follow the red-marked folders until you see the gamefolder - place the PC gamefiles inside this folder and you are good to go."

I'm a bit new to all of this. I followed the folders to the last one labled IWD2, buuutttt. I'm not sure which files to copy into this folder. I have both of the PC game CDs mounted on my desktop , so do I pull them from there? If so which ones and am I even on the right track?
Hello there, i've found this site, and it looks really awesome, so i decided to try it out and start with this game,

i think i've done everything correctly, but probably not since i can't make it work :D

Here it what i've done:

-Installed IWD with parallels, i did a complete full installation from the 2 original CDs
-Moved all the files from the installation folder in windows, inside the wrapper, following the red folders.

But the game doesn't even start, i can see the icon on the dock for a second, and then it disappears, i do not get any error message at all.

OS 10.6.4
I guess i probably missed something, in the steps.
I read that you were referring about some total conversion files but i could not find those on the forum.
Thanks for the help, and for the work on porting the game
Thanks for the black Iles series. Really appreciate.
Seems to work well not to work with a fresh install.

Nice "first wineskin wrapper"-experience. :good:

I'll try with the full one when I stop being a newb on the forums! :)
Does this work with IW2 mods?
Thanks for the mod works great.
There is a Wineskin port now that works with lion
