Fallout: New Vegas

When approaching the development of the New Vegas strip, Obsidian knew that they wanted to create a location that was familiar and recognizable. All of the sights and sounds as players are walking between the neon lights should, in an instant, trigger the feeling they are walking down the Vegas strip.
Of course, New Vegas’ strip is not without its own flourishes. Players can expect to see drunken soldiers aimlessly walking along the streets and can even dabble in the sin of the city themselves, but don’t let yourself get too carried away or else security bots will have to lay down the law and take you out. If only actual Vegas had those.
Check out the developer diary below, and keep your eyes peeled for a surprise appearance by Mr. New Vegas himself, Wayne Newton, as well.
As one would expect from a game that takes place in and around casinos, there will be gambling mini-games abound. From the diary we can see that several card games will be making appearances along with the old Strip standard: slot machines. If they have a couple Texas hold ‘em tables I’m going to be hard pressed to even continue the story.
It certainly has been a pleasant treat to hear Obsidian speak about all that went into making Fallout: New Vegas a unique experience that still falls in line with gamers’ expectations. The locale is extremely enticing and customization is being taken to the next level, so if the developers can simply hit all of the right notes that Fallout 3 hit, I believe we have a winner on our hands. We’re only a couple of days away from its release so you better hit the bank and withdraw some singles.
What do you think of Obsidian’s New Vegas strip? What do you hope to see recreated under the bright lights and amidst the debauchery?

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was quite possibly one of the most highly anticipated games of all time. It was finally released on the 11th of November, 2011. Hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions waited in line to pick up their copy worldwide. Some of these people were there to buy the PC version…and an exponentially smaller amount that were there to buy the PC version didn't even have a PC to play it on. Hours after the game was made available many went to work to create the first fully functional Skyrim for Mac wrapper. Two talented porters and members of the PortingTeam forums, rynotheking14 and danistheman, both released wrapper which suited different crowds. People need variety and these guys fulfilled that need! Both wrappers each have it's own advantage and it's up to the user to verify which will work better for their particular system.
If users have an questions or comments please refer to this database entry and read through it first.

AlterIWNet - Modern Warfare 2

The AlterIWNet Mac Port is the product of dozens, maybe hundreds of hours of hard work put forth by Porting Team team member Drakulix. He's been in close contact with the developers of alterIWNet and had persuaded them to implement certain functions in order to have a working wrapper for Mac port enthusiasts. Without his hard work this project would never have come to light which is why we here at the Porting Team believe that this phenomenal port deserves to be spotlighted.
Thanks for all the hours of hard work put forth in the creation and development of the Mac AlterIWNet port.
