Hello. Can it be a rule that games with videos and images in posts have to actually be from the port?

They are often misleading and very pointless, sometimes it's just a trailer and pre-release shots. They pretty much just decorate the thread rather than provide any usefulness and it would be really nice to see how these games are running for others when they consider them playable.

Thank you for reading

It can be hard for those on low-end hardware. But if your computer is capable of it, i'd say: go for it!

I'd agree that it would certainly be preferable if the media originated from the port, but outright banning trailers etc. would lead to an uptick in the number of ports without any media. Maybe there should just be some sort of "You are encouraged to use actual footage from the port" in the forum rules.

I very much agree about that. I always try to include a few screenshots and a screen recording from the port.
With old 2D games I don't really care that much, but for bigger ports I always do that.

To be honest, so far all my ports are comparable to windows versions of games, or I won't release them. They might be a bit slower, but if i have interface or graphical errors I'll keep working on it until they are 100% green. The exception so far is Avencast, which doesn't play intro videos.
