Recently someone was kind enough to port the Streets of Rage Remake. I believe that was 5.0. Sadly Apple updated OSX and it just plain doesn't run any more. Along with that the actual game was updated as well.

http://www.soronline...r_downloads.htm

So now they have 5.1 up for download and the Mac version is 5.0 but it doesn't run anyway. Is there any way to port Streets of Rage Remake 5.1 to Mac so it can work with the new OSX?

Would love it if it was ported for 10.13! :)

Just tried the new beta OS and SORR doesn't even load, however it did work perfectly on 10.12.6... :(

I just put high sierra on an external drive. I'll make sure this is the first thing I test. I'm 2/3 of the through, working three doubles in a row. Maybe Wed or Thursday night I'll be able to hit this up. Made the mistake of installing it on to a USB 2.0 device so this might be annoying to test on...but I will persevere!

I checked it out and it does actually work on High Sierra but there's a bug that prevents Wineskin execution when the app is launched with the detection option enabled, which is a default setting. With the Wineskin app launched, choose Set Screen Options and uncheck the box next to Auto Detect GPU for Direct3D. I can confirm the app will run on high sierra by disabling that default setting.

Just hold the Alt/Option key when you double click the wrapper. This will cause the Wineskin.app to launch located inside the wrapper. Choose Set Screen Options and then uncheck the Auto Detect GPU for Direct3D. Close the window and double click the SoRR wrapper. I will eventually update this I just need to find the time to get it packaged up correctly.

Are you trying to run the game from the disk image? It cannot write any changes if the app isn't on your hard drive. If it is located on your hard drive the only other problem that could be causing a failure to write the changes may be that you are not using a user account that has writing privileges.

I'm trying to open it from the app, downloaded to my macbook. I did do the wineskin, uncheck auto detect GPU info for direct3D, but i hit done and try to open the app, and it does't open still. So I go back in to check the screen settings, and there it is checked off again after I unchecked it haha. I am using a user account on my macbook. Don't know what the issue could be, there's gotta be something i'm not doing.

Hi all,

I have tried the tips and advice posted above but am still unable to get SORR to launch on my 2016 MacBook running High Sierra. I have full admin rights and have previously been able to run the game (app) but not since upgrading from Sierra to High Sierra. I would really love to be able to blast through this excellent game again so any further help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I think it's a simple enable/disable option in Wineskin that'll get this working on your system...more info here... http://portingteam.c...ra/#entry107000

You don't need to disable that function in Wineskin on 10.10.5...that bug only effects 10.13.x. Can you provide some logs? That's not enough info to figure out what the issue is.
