Hello all,

After trying the Rfactor 2 Steam demo with success I decided to purchase the full game and run it on my 2015 Macbook Pro (2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, Intel Iris Pro 1536MB) using Wineskin 2.6.2 and the Wine 2.0 engine for stability. The game installs fine, but what got the demo to work (Winetricks d3dx9, vcrun2010) doesn't do enough for the full game. It loads the launcher but shows a crash message immediately after that. I've read that running the game's Visual C++ runtimes (vcredist_2012_x64.exe, vcredist_2012_x86.exe, vcredist_2013_x64.exe, vcredist_2013_x86.exe) can straighten things out, but when I try running them I get error messages about an NT64 version check not matching either 6.0 or 5.2 SP1. I can't seem to find any info about how to fix this version check issue, assuming it's the reason for the crash.

Any other advice I find on Rfactor 2 refers to much older builds than the current one, so I'm flying a little blind in this case. I really appreciate any help you can give, and if you need full error logs I can provide. Thanks.

Rfactor 2 just switched to DirectX 11 renderer which is not working on Mac Wine.
You can try with -dx9 startup launch parameter on steam?

Thanks for the suggestion, Hulk. I tried it but saw no change.

You can try with this Steam 64bit wrapper
http://portingteam.c...-steam-x86-x64/

It has bunch of winetricks preinstalled so it may work.

Or if you are into racing sims another game working great with Wine is Reiza free Copa Petrobras de Marcas
http://store.steampo...bras_de_Marcas/

As far as I can remember It only needs Windows 7 setup in wine wrapper

Project cars is also working with Wine 64 bit and -dx9 Steam launch parameter.
It's very demanding game and Your graphic card is probably not supported even with real Windows but you can try free Project Cars Pagani Edition
http://store.steampo...Pagani_Edition/
