I came from snow leopard and saw dan's video about dead island and redirected me to porting team. Well since SL was shut down, PT was my only option to get my games, then I decided to become active and learned to port games.

What was 'Snow Leopard'?
Weird to name a Site after a Mac OS...
Hello. Sadly, I am not active here on the Porting Team anymore, and therefore I cannot give support or answer questions to any of my posted Ports or posted topics.

Apparently snow-leopard(.ning.com) was a porting site much like this one that was more popular (never joined), but was shut down cause the admin was too cheap to pay for real hosting. ZING!

Surely we shouldn't bother then with our effort here. They are doing well...

I don't think so, it might have been this one:
http://snow-leopard.ning.com/

I wouldn't know, though, I wasn't on it.
You are hilarious though, that gave me a good laugh. :D

Desperate for the first command and conquer mac on MacOS X. Easy to get the first one running through dosbox, but graphics are rubbish compared with the Mac version- and it was easier to get it here than trying to find a working copy of C&C Gold for Windows

It's a little complicated... I was using Boxer for DOS games and I always whished there were something like that for Wine. While browsing GoG i would look into the GoG mixes to see which games were using DOSBox and somehow I saw the names Winebottler and Wineskin mentioned. So I looked up what those were, since they kind of sounded like what I was looking for. Winebottler looked kind of abandoned (turns out it is), but Wineskin looked just like the thing I needed. So I gave it a try, failed and then searched Google for help with Arx Fatalis and somehow came to a post in the old forum. I registered, tried a few pre-made ports, some failed, some worked and then I tried porting myself. So here I am now, more than a year later.
Games I own that still need porting:
Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, Descent 3, Fallout, Space Rangers 2

I found it through my brother, who most likely found it through google!

I find everything through google or word of mouth (that I find with google searches).

Found an old summoner disk, "classic environment is no longer supported". One Google later and here I am.

Have the windows discs, looking for a working cider version of it. The links on this site seem dead. Hope I can play it soon.
That's how I ended up here.
