Here we are, folks. Time to decide the Winner of our "Design the next Port Status Icons" Contest.

We have 5 really good Entries from: darkstar711, GameGuy, RazorPro, GeekyMacBoy1 and BoomBoxCreations.
All 5 Entries look really great and it's hard to pick just one.

The Icons from the Winner will replace our current Port Status Icons we have now.
Below is an example how they will look in the Forum.

The Poll is only open for 5 Days, so vote, vote, vote!

So here we go:

Note2:
To those who may have misunderstood some things in the Contest, we will be grouping the following Wrappertypes together, meaning the following Groups will only have 1 Icon now:
CXS and CXZ
Wineskin and Wine
Cider and CiderX

To those who made separate Icons for CXS / CXZ and Cider and CiderX will be changed to a single Icon; we will use the 'Z' Icon for CXZ and CXS, the Wineskin 'Spiral' Icon for Wineskin and Wine, and the 'X' Icon for Cider and CiderX.

This step will highlight our current-gen and next-gen Wrappertype Creations, and it will also simplify things for existing and new users.
(as said, we have too many Status Icons now, users still mislabel things)



About the Prize for the Winner:

I was going to say they look almost completely the same, but voted on RazorPros because they are more washed out.

What are you talking about? His Cider representation looks exactly like the real logo....you must be looking at the CiderX icon

I was thinking that our icons wouldn't work with the extras like the smiley face.  So, I made the icons for them too.

Once again, here are the port icons:

We'll see what happens next before I upload the individual icons.

Devilhunter doesn't plan on using the old Cider icon - he thinks 3 icons for our main ports are sufficient - I don't really share that opinion but he organized the contest so it's up to him to decide this.

I thought we were going to have the option to use all of the icons that are voted in....not just a few of them....if I create a port with a custom built wine engine I would like to use the Wine icon....if it's stock engines, I would use the Wineskin icon....I thought that was the deal with the CXZ and the crossover icons as well....one represents the slimmed down version and the other represents CXS...Why wouldn't that be the same for the Cider icon? If it's actually a Cider build from Transgaming we really shouldn't label it as CiderX.

I don't think a lot of people read through everything in the Contest Topic.

Quoting myself there:

Why have everything double. Cider icon double, Crossover icon double, Wineskin icon double.
One is enough for them, since they are basically the same thing. Engine in or out, it doesn't matter.
You have the 'Description' Field below the Subject Name to tell what the Wrapper is. (example: Wineskin custom Wine build 1.3.6patch2)

If you are using a custom built version of a Wineskin Engine, why label it with a Wine icon instead of Wineskin? You are running it in Wineskin after all.

There won't be 10 or more Icons to label Ports here, people already wonder what the difference is between them.

Have we got more than the main 3 Wrapper technologies (Cider, CrossOver, Wineskin) at our disposal?
When someone asks you what he should use for porting, you could say, Wineskin, WineskinSC, Wine, CXS, CXZ, Chromium, Cider, CiderX; and perhaps a few more variations to come.  
Then also tell them what the difference is between them all, and why there are some who have incremental differences.
Or just Wineskin, CrossOver and Cider?

Razor Pro's and BoomBox' Icons look both great.
For me it does not matter who wins, if it is one of yours BoomBox and RazorPro.
It was hard to decide, witch one to vote for, but I think I like BoomBox icons more.
I do not like that RazorPro ones are washed out.

hard to vote for a port of the week without actually downloading and spending time with the port to see how well its done.... if we had this many people voting, I'd assume people were just voting foe games they liked, or ones they wanted to see listed like some type of advertisement... without ever knowing if it even ran or not.
