Hey all,
Recently got a 2011 Macbook Pro and loving it. Have been using a parallels desktop install of Win7 64bit for gaming so far but came across this forum last night. Never used anything like it before but I tried my hand at it and tried to make a port of Portal 2, which I am loving at the moment!
Followed the instructions and built it with wineskin. Installed directly fromt he setup.exe from the Porta 2 ISO. It seems to work pretty well. At first, it launched in full screen and for some reason the mouse just wouldn't work properly. It would just jump all over the place. Clicking menu's etc.. also did not work. I then decided to try and minimize it to window's mode so I could search the internet for issues and that seems to have fixed almost all the problems!
In windowed mode it plays perfectly. Going through the intro menu's etc... is still not perfect but if you just navigate with keys, it seems to work fine. In windowed mode you can still see the OSX menu bar at the top of the screen as well as the dock but if you hide the dock, there is really no obstruction and you can play perfectly. The framerate etc... is much better than when playing in parallels.
One last issue is that it seems you cannot change the resolution in the menu. Not sure why.
All in all, very happy yet surprised that it worked so easily :)

There is no need, if you bought the game you get access to both the Win and Mac version.

you might try an older engine for fullscreen usage... there are many known Mouse issues with 1.3.15 - 1.3.20
If its windowed, you won't be able to change resolution, but you should be able to resize the window.
You may also want to try using Wineskin.app -> Screen Options and set it to Override and Fullscreen. Thats a fake fullscreen that gets around some of the normal fullscreen problems at times.
but you really should just use the native Mac version since it won't cost you anything more, but its still fun trying to get games working.
