Was looking around today on the apple site until I found this:

http://store.apple.c...s/product/MD256

Really apple? Charging $70 (USD) just for a flash drive with lion installation on it. That's just pure bs , when anyone could buy it on the mac app store for $30 and then burn it on a cd. This is just ridiculous.

Your thought's?

I guess that is the lazy man's way :)
Also some might not have a DVD player, so they'll end up with 30+20 for the USB drive.

True , especially when they took out the odd on the mac mini . but still you could still put the .dmg installer on a usb then when you need it , just copy it back on your desktop and run the installer. The great thing is about Lion is that you don't have to reboot to install.

This is mainly for people who do not want to use the Mac App Store, or do not have the internet connection bandwidth to download it there.  Its a nice option to have for some people... but there is a reason its an added extra option later and wasn't available right away.

but $70 dollars is a lot of money , especially when they know that in america , a lot of people are unemployed and don't have that kind of money to be spending on something that simple. Sometimes I hate apple .

Windows Ultimate costs $299.
You can get Lion for $29, getting a ready made USB stick for $70 ain't too bad either.

Also I didn't get the part about unemployed people. If you are low on cash, then you have to do some sacrifices.
No one needs to get Lion just now, I know I won't update my desktop to Lion this year.
And if you are really short on cash, and don't have internet to download it, get a friend or your neighbor to do it.

You are paying a $20 premium for the stick (buying Lion on appstore+usb stick will cost you $50 as mentioned earlier)
and to be honest, that ain't too bad. I'm just amazed that Lion costs $29! A new game usually costs $49 and in some cases even $59! Full Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection costs $2599 and AutoCAD LT costs $1199 etc..

Lol exactly cluthz. I don't know why people are outraged with $70. Good thing they don't use Windows I guess, they would die when they see the pricing for Windows 8.

hey some of us had our DVD drive fail when we bought our 2nd hand mac, so USB is awesome, plus you get a free storage device on top of it, plus its recyclable... go green!

You can still do it. If you hold option and click on Purchases in the Mac App Store it'll give you the option to re-download Lion

You can burn a bootable copy of Lion easily. Just look for the disk image inside the Package Conents. Use disc utility to burn the disk image.
