I got the windows game and I used the cider wrapper and it works kinda well.... a bit lot lag and he walks slow sometimes.
I have a late 2008 macbook aluminum with 2.4 Ghz and nvidia GeForce 9400M 256 MB

but i hate using the keyboard.
so what can I do to use a joystick or something else?

also I see they have a native version of assassins creed 2. does it work well or is it terrible?

Native assassins creed 2 doesn't work well with my controller at least.
As for the lagging, it's on your side, because 9400M is actually below lowest specs from ubisoft.

100 series are one generation newer than 9400M and 9400M is a integrated card as well.
Not to mention you have a 2.40GHz CPU and not 3.06GHz

For assassins creed 1.
Depending on the Cider version, that was used to port it, it should work out of the box.
If it does not try out other versions from the Assassins Creed Post in the Members Project Settings.
I remember, that it did work with at least one version of those wrappers. Maybe it was 0.6.

If you have a wrapper, that does not seem to detect your controller correctly, you can always use controller mate.
And if the game only works with XBox 360 Gamepad the xbox360cemu does the magic.

oh well i didn't know about controller mate but i discovered oscillator!
i am playing using my wii controller!
the analog sticks don't work exactly right... i needed to set them to digital buttons: up down...
but otherwise its cool.
