Hey guys, I have this exact problem, not sure what the issue may be. though there wasn't an empty folder as in step 11 of moussaillion's quoted step by step. it instead had a folder that said %USERPROFILE% I tried opening the application with this folder both in and out of the folder it was in with the same result as Jess887cp.

When it shows up in the dock for that second, right clicking it tells me that the application is not responding.

I've not yet gotten it to open, it seems to be I either need to install the game, not sure how and I didn't see it explicitly shown how, also not sure if there is anything else I need to do with the cider wrapper after downloading and transferring the files from razor1911's wineskin DL

Looked through most of the thread and saw people with similar issues but none of it helped me. Sorry for the super noobishness

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is the error message I'm receiving, it talks of a bad module and a binkw32.dll issue, not sure what to do. :(

Well I've graduated to just a black screen now, no flickers or game in the lower left, just a black screen and mouse arrow. I dl'ed a crack only file a friend sent and then replaced that binkw with the one I had previously had. That fixed the icon just showing up for a second in the dock but now the issue I'm having is just a black screen. I've used the preferences app to change the settings 3 different times for size and all the different resolutions with the same result. this is the error message I'm receiving now.

Have you replaced the following files with cracked versions? Not just binkw32.dll

atimgpud.dll?
SkyrimLauncher.exe?
TESV.exe?

The Crack I dl'ed only had these files to replace. I had originally gotten the files from the wineskin razor1911 torrent and then copied over the files from there into the cider file I dl'ed

binkw32.dll
installscript.vdf
skyrim.rar
Steamclient.dll
THEGFW.ini

I followed these directions originally

Copy from here.

Quote:
OK, so if anyone still needs step by step:
1) DL this torrent
2) Go to viewtopic.php?f=45&t=9348
3) DL the Cider Wrapper
4) Unzip the torrent. You should get a Skyrim folder with, among other things, the "The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim" app.
5) command- click it.
6) choose Show Package Contents
7) Navigate to drive_c/Program Files/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
You should see lots of files and directories including SkyrimLauncher.exe, and the Data and Skyrim directories.
9) Now, do steps 5 & 6 for the Cider wrapper
10) In the Cider wrapper, navigate to Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
11) It should be empty.
12) Now, select all the files in step 8, and drag them across to the empty folder in step 11.

That's it!

Er...just to clarify, copy *all* the stuff in the directory you went to in step 7 into the directory you went to in step 10. Not just the ones I deliberately mentioned.

BTW, it doesn't seem to need mouse acceleration in this configuration. They did a good job on the wrapper!

meh i didn't read the follow ups.

Did you add a configfile inside :
/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim/%USERPROFILE%/My Documents/My Games/Skyrim/SkyrimPrefs.ini

No have not messed with that file at all, how and what would I add to the skyrimprefs.ini?

Thanks very much man.

Where and what do I need to add to the skyrimprefs.ini? This is what it looks like currently and all it gets me is a black screen, no flickeriness, no game in the lower left, just a black screen. :( Been working for 4 days now to try and get this working, any help is greatly appreciated.

At this point I can't see whats going wrong.
Have you tried the razorDOX update 1? If not try it.

I'd suggest try reinstall, it can be a corrupt installation. This might be, since you've had a non-working bink32w.dll.

Another thing you can try is to PM someone that have successfully installed on a iMac with 5670, and get their config, but since none of the default ones worked, i guess thats not gonna help.

One thing, you are running Snow Leopard or Lion right? We've had people reporting issues with Leopard (10.5.x)
