We've successfully transferred our System to the newer/faster Server.

This was not an easy step, i tell you...
Thankfully IPB Support helped out.

Unfortunately, a few Topics and Replies were lost, because we used a few hours old backup for the new Server.
If you remember what you posted before the Server transfer, please post it again.

Also new Users who recently registered and can't login anymore, please register with your old username again.

Thank you & sorry for the inconvenience.

At least we have finished the last big step for our whole System upgrade.

One small step for Porting... One giant step for Apple-kind.

Good job guys!

The old read-only phpBB Forum has now been transferred, too.
Everything now on one fast server.

Looks like some ports have been lost, too. Should I re-post Arcanum or can you restore it? Mainly because of the download link, I don't have it anymore and my internet is pretty slow, so uploading stuff is quite a pain.

I've extracted the Info from the damaged backup.
I'll send you a PM for the lost Port, add it to the PD again then.

Nicely done to all those involved. The site grows on me more and more each day as I peruse through it and get used to how it works.

BTW, I love! that it saves my login information now. That gets old typing from the iPad every visit, hehe. ;)

cheers!

No, and it won't be.
The old Ports are transferred by us into the Port Database, and Porters who posted something in the old Forum can take their stuff and post it over here, if they not wish to wait for our transfer.

That is the only reason the old Forum is still online.

Links from here to the old Forum will have eventually be edited, or filled request topics deleted; since the old Forum will go belly up when all Ports have been copied over.

About the conversion magic, I'm afraid we went through too many conversion/export/import steps, and some of the unicode data is completely lost now. Most fixes will have to be handled on a post-by-post basis (since some posts went through only one conversion, some went through two and some others went through three or more, it can no longer be done globally :x)

Too bad, then I guess I'll just copy / paste from the old forum, while using your unicode fixing tool, when I'll have the time (in a month from now). I just hope we won't have to do this process many more times in the foreseable future...

EDIT : Why did the old forum become all messed up once more this time?

If there is a problem with one of my wrappers, please let me know by posting on the game thread AND by sending me a pm.
If there are no problems, then a little "Thank you!" is always heart-warming! ;)

Is there any way to subscribe to ports? I want to get a mail when someone comments on one of my ports, so I don't have to check them manually.

If you go to the port that you're interested in and click "Follow Port" right below the download button you'll get notifications when someone posts something.
