really need this for getting pc only games and getting the files of a game to put it in another port

you can install steam pc client into a wineskin wrapper...plus there is a port of it already in the port database but it may be out of date...info about wineskin can be found here

well i used wineskin and made a port, it works! except when visiting the store and i cant use it anymore since the update news pop-up always crashes it

make sure it install ie6, vcrun 2005, d3dx9, dotnet20 dlls from winetricks

There is actually a "winetricks steam" that install all dependencies for you

you need corefonts too

Also note it's best to simply visit the Steam store online if your buying something as I have had Steam actually fail during the purchase process a couple times.  I wouldn't trust it for that in case it goofs, you get charged, but the game never shows or something weird.  Consider a 'hassle' saver, lol.

We already have a Steam PC port.

This works on 10.6 very well. You can download any game you own and it plays Source, GldSrc, and other games (including MW2 and perhaps other CoD games) very well.
