Porting Request:
Heya, I'm pretty new to this website and sadly made it just in time for the horrid destruction of megaupload ;P
So I realize there is a wineskin of masseffect 2 out there, but the files are no longer available. With mass effect 3 coming out soon, I find myself in a bit of a predicament having played mass effect 1 on my xbox but not 2 (I no longer have my xbox now), and windows parrallels/bootcamp is not an option for me. So I kindly request that someone work their wonderful magic and bring the amazingness of mass effect 2 to my greedy little mac

Game Description:
I think we're all fairly familiar with the action, rpg series by Bioware dubbed Mass Effect. But incase you're not:

"Mass Effect 2 begins weeks after the ending of the first game. While patrolling for geth, the Normandy is attacked by an unknown starship, and many crew members die, including Navigator Pressly. The remainder of the crew is then forced to evacuate. During the evacuation, Shepard tosses Joker into the Normandy's final escape pod before being blasted into space. After a suit breach, Shepard dies of asphyxiation and his/her body is pulled into the orbit of a nearby planet. With the help of former squadmate Liara T'Soni, Shepard's body is retrieved by a human supremacist organization called Cerberus and they spend two years resurrecting him/her. Once revived, Shepard awakes aboard a besieged station, where he/she helps Cerberus agents Jacob Taylor and Miranda Lawson escape. There was/is a working port of this. It's been taken down since the file was hosted on MU and that's been taken down. I do have the orignal port lying around. I've offered to upload it, but no reponse as of yet.

I would do it, but I'm not sure how the original porter would react to it. I don't want to give out what is essentially HIS work without his consent.

DankoB is around almost every day, I'm kinda surprised that his port is down, since he usually quick with fixing things

I'm like the definition of noob when it comes to porting xD but say I were to download mass effect 2 via a windows computer, then usb the files onto my mac. Could I then simply drop the downloaded files into a wineskin wrapper's program files and run it? Or is there a lot more to it?

If you have origin version you might wanna drop in a crack

That should work just fine. cluthz do you think I should just PM him directly? Is that actually possiible on these forums? Sorry I'm relatively new to the forums.

I really hope someone gets ahold of the person who ported it >_> I'm about to just give up and settle for reading the storyline for 2 once 3 comes out.

What about it doesn't work for you? I'm playing it right now. It's a fully working port the last I checked. A few annoying crashes and freezes but fully operational.

with the original wrapper i get an wine error and with a wineskin 1.4 RC4 wrapper it goes in the fullscreen mode and crash

ps: can you upload your wrapper for me because the wrapper here is offline
