This is definately a wineskin specific issue, as I have a workaround on how to install dotnet3 from winetricks

Winetricks runs everything without a virtual desktop, which causes dotnet3 installation to fail with an error message
"Failed to create window"

Running the installation executable as an application from winetricks with screen options override + virtual desktop succeeds.
I haven't tried dotnet35 yet but I guess this should happen on that one as well.

So... your saying somehow that Winetricks needs a way to be able to run using a virtual desktop?

I guess it could follow the Screen Options rules, but that could be problematic with fullscreen....

After a few more tests I concluded it's not wineskin. It just fails installing in wine, if you don't go through a very specific sequence of installing dotNet packages.
