That simply means X is not running...

To help though, we'd need to know what specific ports your talking about... if its Wineskin you'd need both the X11 and Wine log.

When you do a Test Run it should let you open up both a Wine and a X11 log... the X11 log will help us know why X11 is not running, since the Wine log is basically complaining that X11 is not available.

in 2.5.5 beta you can choose to use WineskinX11 or use XQuartz.app instead kinda like normal command line Wine would.

no idea.. the X11 log is fine, yet the Wine log is saying there is no X11...

if you've rebooted and it still happens.. I'd say get the Wineskin 2.5.5 beta and try that out... and if its having the same issues, try the option in it to use XQuartz instead and see what happens.

Also would be nice to know what Wineskin messages are coming up in the Console.

No solved it's a problem with the " /etc./hots " folder generate by my ubisoft native game splinter cell conviction. Now the winskin game runs again but Scc don't run "An Internet connection is required to play this game. Unable to connect to servers from Ubisoft blablabla". This native port is a bullshit

They made you edit your hosts file just to play? and on a native game?  wow.. thats a very poor job.

a lot of bug report for Splinter cell conviction by macusers; problem of connection at gamelauncher ubisoft, graphic bug, mouse bug. And... the game run very very slowly, with minimal settings, if you don't have the last iMac configuration. It's a poor native port by ubisoft. 19euros to the trash for me! Don't buy this game!

Sometimes if the wrapper is corrupted.. you can use the Update Wrapper function a few times and force the update on ... and it could start working again.

Official answer of Ubisoft Support

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Ubisoft Technical Support for Splinter Cell: Conviction.

To answer this email, use the link above. Do not respond to this e-mail fromyour mailbox,
and do not create a new incident.

If you are connected to a WiFi or other public networks, this is not secure enough and you can not access our servers.
If your connection is secure and private home, the problem may be yourconfiguration.

1. Check that the game and the Ubisoft Game Launcher are not blocked byyour firewall.

2. The hosts file can also block access to our servers. You can delete the hosts file like this:

1 - Open the Finder
2 - Click Cmd + Shift + G
3 - Enter the new window / private / etc
4 - Copy the hosts file on the desktop
5 - Delete the HOSTS file of folder "etc"
6 - If the game starts, delete the Hosts file on your desktop.

(If you have a Mac Lion, then it will proceed as follows:
1 - Click on the Finder
2 - Press Shift + Cmd + G
3 - In the new window enter / private / etc
4 - delete the hosts file

If you have the same problem than me don't delete the HOST file, take always an copy!!!!!!!!!

if a default hosts file has to be deleted for the game to work... then they are bad programmers... that's just idiocy.
