If you purchase it or have it already purchased it shows up in your Mac game list if you have it filtered to only show Mac games. Before anyone wonders this... there is no wrapper for it because Croteam ported this game natively to the Mac and didn't use either wineskin or cider. In fact... I poked around in the partially downloaded game and it's not even in a .app file and they launch it via a shell file it seems. They pretty much ported it to be the same way it is on PC with the raw binaries in a bin folder and the game assets in another folder. It's not finished downloading though (have a couple of hours left) so I haven't tried it yet. It doesn't seem to include an app icon either since it's not in a .app file. So you might want to get\make one to at least have for your steam shortcut.
It's only $13 right now!

It's funny how the colors of the real world only seem really real when you viddy them on the screen.

No not app store and considering Croteam's support of Steam (they don't release anywhere else) I doubt it'll ever be on the App store. And like I said it's not even in an .app file. So it's not even an app.

I hate to be a debbie downer but it appears this game runs like utter trash unless you have a sandy bridge CPU.. even if you have a good GPU backing it up. Lots of people even on PC are having performance problems with the game with GPUs such as a Geforce GTX 295. On my 27 inch iMac I'm getting black screens and hard locks on anything but default settings and 1024x768
Thing is the serious engine 3 powered first and second encounter run a hell of a lot better on my system in WINE. So does Alan Wake, FEAR3 and even Crysis in cider runs a hell of a lot better at 1600x900 or 1920x1080 resolutons on medium to high settings!
Serious Sam 3 BFE.. are you serious? This is a lot worse for me than The Witcher ever was.... and this was ported native. =\

I seemed to have mostly "fixed" this game by bringing down the console (only F1 brought it down) and typing in:
gfx_iAPI = 1
gfx_iFXAA = 0
gfx_iAntiAliasingSamples=4
sfx_iAPI = 1
The FXAA is probably the one that helped the most. Stil, cut scenes don't work very well and have to be skipped but I can now play the game in full HD. Same in-game settings as above.

I set gfx_iAntialiasingSamples after seeing that disabling FXAA worked. If you have a more powerful GPU than I do you might be able to turn gfx_iAntialiasingSamples higher like to 8 or something to make up for not having fxaa combined with it.
BTW for me The Witcher runs mostly OK except for crashing every hour or two from what seems like some kind of memory leak or something.
Another tweak you might want to look into:
plr_fFOVOverride=90 (or higher depending on your tastes)
Gives a more PC like view... which is better for sitting up close to the screen.
BTW if you set your settings previous to this info and then quit and are unable to get back into the game you can find the config files in this location: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/ then whatever number is the next folder /41070/local/
Another setting.. on my system the cvar ren_iMaxThreads was set to 2. I set it to 4 and I get a boost from that as well. There are other thread relatad cvars but you can leave those at 0 which means system managed... but ren_iMaxThreads was set to 2 on my system so it was worth changing since I have four cores.
I looked in GPU settings and noticed that when it's set to medium the internal rendering is set to 1megapixel which is 1280 resolution... I thought it looked pretty fuzzy. I bumped that up to 2megapixels (1920) to match the external reesolution I have and with the fixes I did above it seems to work now.
