I own skyrim and had to use a Cider wrapper. I don't know how to update the game to the latest version. Can someone tell me since I am a noob at this.

You have to download the latest skidrow update and install it into the wrapper. Wineskin is easy as you can right click on the wrapper and open it up and run the wineskin app and select the install windows software which will ask you for the exe of the update you downloaded. For the cider wrapper you will either have to update the game on a windows machine and move the game file to your mac, update via a virtual machine on your mac with the same principles as on a windows machine, or install the update into a blank wineskin wrapper and drag the files it installs into the cider wrapper under <drive_c/program files/skyrim/> and overwrite files if it asks. Then all you have to do is apply the crack that came with the update and your done.

The topic for the skyrim wrapper has an instillation section which tells you how to install the game into the wrapper.

Info on general wrapper usage got here

For info on how to use wineskin go here

I find cider runs this game way better than wineskin

The cider wrapper works with all the current updates and probably will for the next update

Cider doesn't have its own installer so you will need to download wineskin and install and engine right from the wineskin app when downloaded (the wineskin website that I linked has all the info on how to do that). After you have installed wineskin and downloaded and engine you need to create a blank wrapper, name it, and put it on your desktop for easy access. Double click the app you dragged to your desktop and a window will pop up. Select install windows software where a window will pop up again. This window is asking for you to select the exe file that is included in the skidrow update you downloaded. After its installed you right click on the wrapper and select show package contents and make your way to <drive_c/ program files/ skyrim> This is where the update files will be...all you need to do now is put those files in your cider wrapper and drag the crack from the skidrow update into the skyrim folder and your done. Sorry if my reply is not easy to understand I'm a bit tired and trying to do homework (12:22 am)

No the skidrow update is the updated files for the skyrim game but the updated files have to be installed into the wineskin wrapper to be accessible as they are packed into an exe file for easy installation on a windows pc.

Did you read anything on the wineskin website I gave you everything you needed in previous posts to get this rolling.

Here are some steps:

Things you need:
-Skidrow Update for skyrim
-Cider Wrapper with skyrim in it

1) Download wineskin and run it

2) Hit the plus button where it says new engines available

3) Select an engine preferably the newest one and click download and install

4) When the engine is download and installs click the Create New Blank Wrapper and name it whatever you want

5) Don't install Gecko as you wont need it so click cancel

6) After you go through that process a window will pop up that comfirms the creation of the wrapper. Select view wrapper in finder.

7) A window should have popped up showing the wrapper. Drag it to your desktop for easy access.

8) Put your skyrim cider wrapper beside the wineskin wrapper you just moved to your desktop. Right click the skyrim cider wrapper and select show package contents.

9) You should now see a window with a contents folder, open the folder and locate <Resources/ Transgaming/ c_drive/ Program Files/>

10) Inside the Program files folder there will be a folder called The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. Drag this to your desktop. Now close the window that you dragged the skyrim folder from.

11) No right click your wineskin wrapper and select show package contents. Now Locate <drive_c/ Program Files/>. Drag your The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim folder into the window which will be the Program Files Folder. Close the window.

12.a) ONLY USE THIS STEP IF YOUR SKIDROW UPDATE CAME WITH AN INSTALLER FOR THE UPDATE...IF IT DIDN'T AND ONLY CAME WITH THE TESV.EXE AND SKYRIMLAUNCHER.EXE SKIP THIS STEP. Double click the wineskin wrapper and select Install Software. Then Select Choose Executable. Now select the update exe file from the skidrow update and follow the installer. After it has installed it will ask you to select a startup exe. Just select one at random as we wont be using this wineskin wrapper to launch the game.

12. B) SKIP THIS STEP IF YOU USED STEP 12.a). Your update should consist of a few dll files, 2 exe files (TESV.exe and SkyrimLauncher.exe) and a data folder. Open up the wineskin wrapper and locate <drive_c/ Program Files/ The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim/> Drop your crack files into the The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim folder and overwrite if need be.

13) Now drag your The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim folder from the wineskin wrapper to your desktop and close all windows.

14) Open up your cider skyrim wrapper and drop the The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim folder back into <contents/ Resources/ transgaming/ c_drive/ Program Files>.

15) Close all windows and run the skyrim wrapper. If you haven't set your resolution via the Skyrim prefrences app do so first before launching the game.

These steps may need to be tweaked and played with to work for you. These are the steps I took when I used the update 1 from RazorBox but now I can update it on a pc via steam which is faster and easier.
