I tried to install the mod found on this page: http://skyrim.nexusm...id=3863#content
but it seems I can't get the mod to work right as I get an error in the game that says SkyUI could not detect Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE). SkyUI will not work. I tried to fix this by following the intrustiocn by the maker but the SkyUI will still not work can someone help me.

The mod needs skse from here. Skyrim needs to be launched via the skse_launcher.exe for the mod to work but skse launches a second window which probably wont work in cider but would work in wineskin. Make sure you get the skse version for your skyrim version.

Dude did you look at the website? On the website it says for the main link that its compatible with  1.5.26.0 but under it it says archive builds click it and download the one for you skyrim game version. Try to find answers for yourself before asking questions that can be easily solved by yourself.

You need to set the cider wrapper to launch the skse launcher...to do this open the wrapper and find the info.plist in the contents folder. Open the info.plist in any plist editor and find the line "CedegaGameName" and change it from
<C:\Program Files/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim/TESV.exe> to <C:\Program Files/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim/skse_loader.exe> then save it.

I have no idea how you could get the game version unless the port is working for you already but if you go into the settings menu in skyrim one of the tabs should show the game version in the bottom left corner. Newest is 1.8.

hey, i followed all of the instructions above, running the new 2011 macbook air. everything works fine for me, i'm able to run skse, but none of my mods work
originally to get them running, i had to go into usersprofile, local settings, application data, skyrim, and add the esp name to DLCList and plugins
I have skyrim.esm at the top, and then the list of mods i run
do i have to change something here?
thanks

When you add the mods to the dlclist and plugins make sure your only adding esp's and not esm or bsa files...esm files get loaded automatically and bsa files are just containers for sem or esp's. Only advice I have. DLCList just holds all the names of your plugins and plugins file holds your load order.

took out skyrim.esm, the rest were just .esp files, still didnt work
do i need to tell skse_loader.exe to call DLCList and plugins?
when i call for the console, the mods meshes and textures arent there, skyrim doesnt find them

If your trying to use skyui in cider I know it wont work because skse doesn't work in cider but skyui will still work without skse well most of it. You will need the wineskin wrapper or windows to fully use skse/ skyui

I have windows (run it via parallels) but i cant get a windows version of skyrim to run for some reason. Could I possibly install skse on my mac via windows?
Thanks. Also not sure what u mean skse wont work, it works for me, in the sense that it starts up, the game works fine and everything but none of the mods work, not even the ones that worked before I installed skse

Well skse draws a window so it wont work in cider. DO you really know its running or just assume because skyui is running. You don't need windows to install skse on mac its just a bunch of files you put in the skyrim folder and thats it.

SkyUI doesnt work because its a mod, none of my mods are working, but skse runs when i start skyrim, when i quit skyrim, the skyrim app is still open, because the second window closes but not the first. so i have to force quit like smellybo does, but i can deal with that.

Did you add SkyUI.esp to your loadorder...if you didn't it wont magicly enable and work. Yes it used skse but you still need to tell the game to use it.

lol no wonder skyui has to be as low as possible. If your put an esp before the main esm files its defiantly not going to load. Mine is the lowest thing besides skyrim performance mod with all my mcm mods above it like ihud, shooting stars, instinctive exploration. wet and cold, etc. Your load order should consist of esm and esp files only with esm being the first in the loadorder.

ok did a lot of things since my last post, first off, i didnt have any esm files, except for the skyrim.esm which you told me i didnt need, so i tried putting skyui last of order both with and without skyrim.esm, didnt work. then i thought that maybe skyui was the problem, that maybe i could still get a lot of mods to work with skse without skyui, so i disabled skyui, still didnt work, at that point i went back into info.plist and called back tesv.exe instead if skse, so that atleast some of the mods that were working before skse, would work again (essentially, i just changed everything back to its original form), except that the mods that used to work, no longer work at all, no mods work and skyrim's console cant find them
side note: i also decided to update to most recent version of skyrim, so i'll also try to use the version of skse associated with that update
